FIVE YEARS LATER

It's been five years since Newt last saw his parents, Wicked took him, leaving Thomas unconscious and Brenda screaming hysterically, and threw him in the truck. Newt scooted over towards Isaac, and they stared at each other for a moment, terrified and naive. They were taken to WICKED headquarters and that's when they were forced to start making the new maze. Three levels, eight sections in each, almost unsolvable. Once they had finished the design, they were forced to take innocent human test subjects and turn them into Grievers, terrifying creatures of unnatural size and shape that resembled nothing like the people they actually were.

Everything was ready, and finally the day came. The day when they were all thrown into the maze. They weren't prepared. They weren't prepared to lose their memories, to go through everything their parents did, knowing absolutely nothing. Nothing, but their names.

FIVE MONTHS LATER (in the Glade)

The boys were sent up into the Glade with a starting group of 10. Thomas and Brenda's son Newt. Minho's son Isaac. Gally's three sons Chuck, Alby, and Zart. Sonya's son Aris. And some other Munie children. As it was in the first maze, every month a new boy was sent up remembering only his name and sometimes his age.

Newt became the leader alongside Isaac, and together they kept order in the Glade. Of course fights broke out, but they were never serious, until that one day when one of they boys, Marcus, was stung by a Griever when he was running the maze. It caused him to go through what they called the Remembering. As a result, Marcus lashed out at Chuck, and for that he was Banished into the Maze to be killed by the Grievers. There were rules, and when they were broken, the ones who broke them had to be punished. That was how they kept peace. There had never been any difficulty to hoe they ran the Glade until the day they arrived. The six Brownies that would change their lives for better, or maybe even for worse.
