Chapter 1Tori’s P.O.V
“Ally, are you almost ready?!” I yelled to her from down stairs.
As soon as I said that, she came down the stairs, looking like a princess. She was wearing a strapless multicolored sequin dress. It had her favorite colors right in order: blue, purple, silver, and pink. It was like the dress was made for her. Her hair was in an elegant bun, with braids along the side of her head. She’s never looked better.
“Tori! Oh my god, you look stunning!” Ally said back to me, then hugged me.
I was in a tight black dress. It had black and silver sequins at the top, and then was black all the rest of it. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. Ally and I had bought our dresses together, at the mall. Hers was easy to find, but mine took forever. It was in the clearance aisle, and was the last one there. Ally picked it out, just for me. It was meant to be. My hair was curled, and went down to my shoulders.
“Are you girls ready for photos?” my mom asked, and we nodded our heads. Slipping on my high heels, I walked out the door, ready for homecoming. We took so many pictures, some inside, some outside. Finally it got dark out. We hopped in the car and left for homecoming.
The whole way there Ally and I had the tunes cranked and we sang our hearts out, sounding amazing. See me and Ally are both amazing singers, not to brag or anything. Finally we arrived for homecoming. I was as anxious as hell and I started to shake. Ally and I didn't have dates so we're going together. We hopped out of the car, saying good bye to my mom and then ran to the school entrance. "Are you ready?" Ally asked as she grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze. "As ready as I'll ever be." I said excitedly. We entered through the door, huge grins on our faces. All you could hear of the music was the soft thud of the beat, as the gym was down the long corridor and around a corner. Ally and I shuffled along to the doors where we got our picture taken by some teacher from another grade and then headed into the gym. The music was loud and the beat was sick. Ally automatically started doing this weird little dance, her arms up in the air and she was going around in circles shouting random things. I swear one day this girl is going to be categorized as a mental child.
Time flew by faster than it ever had. They just announced homecoming queen and king. They turned back on the music, and Ally kept doing her little “dance move”. Suddenly, everything goes blurry. I crash into Ally, thinking it was a mistake. Once it had happened five times, Ally knew something was up. But, it was too late. I fell onto to the floor, shaking. I hit my head, hard. I try to keep my eyes open, but I can’t. Last I remember, Ally was still doing her dance, not realizing what happened.
I woke up to people shouting my name. "Tori! Stay with me! Please!" I heard Ally cry. I opened my eyes to see I was in a big box, filled with people in white jackets. I looked over to see Ally crying. "What's going on?" I asked, confused. Ally looked at me and grabbed my hand before sobbing even more. "You fainted. The medics are saying something is wrong. Tori I'm scared." She whispered. It must be bad. Ally never admits she's scared unless something really bad is happening. "Me too." I whispered before feeling suddenly really tired. I felt the blood drain from my face and I passed out again.
I woke up again, to people stabbing me with needles. There’s nothing I hated more than needles. I screamed so hard, even people half away across the hospital heard me. I can’t stand needles. I had to do something quick. I pinched the nurse’s arm, scaring the crap out of her. She wiggled the needles, making it hurt even more. Next thing I know, I’m getting another needle in my arm, and I fell asleep.
"Tori? You awake babe?" I heard a familiar voice say. I cracked my eyes opened, blinded by the bright lights. I tried to lift my arm to shield my eyes but i was stopped by a bunch of tubes in it. I turned my head to see my very worried mother sitting in a chair by my bed, looking as terrible as ever. She had terrible bags under her eyes, she was pale and her hair was losing its beautiful shine. "Mom?" I said, my voice groggy. She looked up to me and gave me some sort of smile, one she didn't own and never should. "Hi sweetie." She said. "What's going on? I'm scared. Where's Ally? Where am I?" I said, starting to panic. "Shhh. It's okay. You just fainted and hit your head. Ally's getting food. She'll be right back. Tori you're in the hospital." My mother said calmly, her voice stricken with pain. I nodded, trying to take this all in, which is really hard when you have a killer headache.
In what felt like forever, Ally returned with my favorite: McDonald’s. Right about now, I loved her. She got me a cheeseburger with no bun, no lettuce and tomato, with a side of fries and a caramel frappe. She knew me so well. I ate for the first time since 11 am today, and it was so good! Just as I was about to finish my meal, another one of those stupid doctors came in. He asked for my mom. Ten minutes later, he came back in and asked for Ally. After another ten minutes, they both came back in crying.
“Tori.” Said the doctor. “We figured out what’s wrong with you. You have Leukemia.”
