Chapter 8

* A few hours later *

BENS POV

We were back stage getting ready to go on to perform and I saw Ryan with his hands on Laura's shoulders as he stood in front of her. She was nervous about performing but it seemed as if Ryan had calmed her nerves as she was laughing with him. They looked like they made each other happy and that made me happy because Ryan needed someone other than me and Amy to cheer him up. He had Abbi, but he needed someone he could have fun with. I think that person was Laura.

The stage director came up to us,

"2 minutes"

I nodded, approaching ryan and laura who appeared to be talking about last night.

"You fell asleep first" Laura said sternly.

"Nuh-uh" Ryan shook his head an laughed.

"It was definitely you." Laura pointed at Ryan.

"You two are like a married couple..." I shook my head and laughed.

"She fell asleep first last night and I was the one who had to carry her upstairs" Ryan told me.

"Oh, so that's how I ended up in bed..." She rubbed the back of her neck.

"So, you stayed at Ry's last night aye?" I wiggled my eyebrows at her.

"Not like that. He was on the sofa." She looked over to Ryan.

"Yeah, and it wasn't comfy at all" He sighed.

"Dude you have like 3 spare rooms why didn't you sleep upstairs?" I asked.

"Because my snoring would have woken her up..."

"That's a good point, he snores so loud I once thought it was thunder" I told Laura.

She laughed as Ryan looked down in shame.

RYANS POV

We got the cue to go on stage.

"You ready?" I smiled over at Laura who still looked a lityle nervous.

"As ready as i'll ever be.." she smiled.

We walked on stage and the crowd cheered. Ellen introduced the song and the music began to play.

I noticed Laura look back at me from her position next to Ben at the front of the stage. She smiled. The chorus came in and she did awesome. Her voice was perfect. Ben rapped and his energy on stage seemed to be contagious as when the chorus came in Laura began to move around the stage and feel more at home. As the song ended Ben came to Laura's side and placed an arm around her as she sang the last chorus. The crowd cheered and I joined them both at the front.

I gave her that 'you did awesome' look which she seemed to understand as she beamed back at me.

Ellen approached us and spoke,

"I really do love that song, and  'Second Last Chance' is available to download right now on itunes! Go buy it, I know I will!"

We thanked her and the show cut to an add break. We walked off stage with Ellen.

"That song was great you guys, and Laura it is lovely to meet you, you're voice is beautiful!" Ellen told her.

"Thank you so much. It's been a dream of mine to perform on your show I can't believe this is real.." She said.

After we had spoken to Ellen me and Laura said good bye to Ben and Amy. Ben whispered to me,

"Good luck on the date tonight man"
