I've never been one to change who I am. With that being said, just because I come from the suburbs does not mean I'll act the same way as I do there, on the streets of Brooklyn. No, that doesn't make me fake at all. There's just a time and a place for everything.

BAM!

"Damn Miley Cyrus watch where the hell you walking!" This boy yells with all the bass in the world in his voice. It startles me, so I flinch a little. I can't show that I'm weak so I'll have to come back.

"Who the hell are you talking to?" I ask looking around as if I'm looking for another person for him to have yelled at. He looks taken back by my response and a smirk soon spreads across his face.

"Chill girl, you got it. Just be careful next time" he said while flashing me his pearly white teeth and licking his lips. Wait, he said next time, right? Sheesh, I wouldn't mind seeing him again. Something about him screams familiarity, like I've seen him before. He is indeed beautiful. His hair is cut to perfection. The sides and back are shaved , but the top is curly. His eyes are a dark brown, which his perfect caramel skin compliments so well.

"Like what you see huh?" He says taking me out of my train of thought.

"In your dreams" I scoff. I mentally curse myself. He must have noticed me checking him out.

"You right about that Miley" he replies. His beauty is beginning to fade since his arrogance is over shining it.

"Is that supposed to be a white joke?" I say with annoyance clear in my voice. I don't have blonde hair anymore so it must be because I'm white.

"Calm down shawty. You are a white girl and I don't know your name so you're Miley Cyrus until further notice"

"Whatever I have to go" I reply with an attitude. I flip my hair and walk away, I don't dear to look back. I know he's probably noticed my figure and is most likely watching my hips sway. I walk a few blocks to my grandparents' house. All I wanted was some candy from the corner store, the kind that's no longer sold in my dull town. Instead I received a rude encounter with a beautiful creature.

"What's wrong Princess?" My grandma, Diana, asks me as I enter her mansion. Hearing her call me by my nickname eases the tension from my body.

"I'm fine, thanks for asking Nana" I reply

"Stop the lies" Grandpa Bill says entering the living room where my grandma and I are. Lying is apparently not my best quality.

"It's nothing serious Grandpa and Nana. I just bumped this boy by accident and he-"

"What'd he do? How did he look? I'll go wrestle with him and give him a talk to my fists" my grandpa says with his fists up like a boxer prepared to fight, which causes me and my Nana to erupt in laughter. I forgot my grandpa used to be a teacher at the local public school. He's the principle of the near by high school now. He practically knows every boy in the area, they have a lot of respect for him.

"It's fine garandpa" I reply still laughing.

"If you ever have trouble just let us know honey. We have been living here before you were born, we can protect you." My Nana says.

"You guys mean the world to me, I'd never want you to get hurt." I say, nearly in tears. I know what your thinking. Why is she crying? I just feel guilty. I wouldn't want anything happening to them because I'm clumsy.

"We have plenty of allies here Princess, we can protect you. Maybe not physically but we have people who can look out for you. " my grandpa says. My Nana nods in agreement. I sigh.
