Planet Kitano, local starship docking facility. Several hours after the heist.
*No POV*
Reese, after transferring fifty thousand credits to the Dockmaster that agreed to install the stolen parts, looked out up at the sky.
Even after four years traveling in space, the vastness of it all still mesmerized him.
"This is going to take at least a few hours, Ardainian." The Dockmaster spoke to Reese. "I'll comm you when it's ready. In the meantime, I'd suggest seeing more of our beautiful world. I appreciate the hefty payment."
"It's no big deal, hoss." Reese smiled. "Thank you for helping me out."
Reese walked out of the garage, and stepped outside to look at the city in which he found himself.
There were skyscrapers in abundance, all lit up in white and blue lights. Reese could spot what appeared to be various railway tracks woven into the cityscape; they were for Kitano's high-speed tram system. From what he read about the planet, the train was a highly advanced mag-lev train, similar to the bullet trains in Japan."Still ain't used to being called an Ardainian." Reese muttered.
"That's because they call the Milky Way the Ardainian System." A female voice chimed in his wrist device.
"Elle?" Reese asked, caught off guard. "Eavesdropping much?"
"You do forget I'm an AI, and I can jump from one piece of tech to another, especially here on Kitano." Elle replied.
"Right." Reese uttered. He looked back the Dockmaster, inspecting the ship.
The Dockmaster was a Vaklarite; a green-skinned alien species with two sets of arms and two, small antennae on their foreheads. The dominant eye color is yellow, with some cases of brown and blue being extremely rare. The Vaklarites boast some of the most skilled engineers in the galaxy, very convenient in Reese's case.
Reese looked out at the city skyline, debating whether or not to go exploring. One of the first stops would be a stadium he read about in the flight to Kitano.
Apparently, the large stadium located in the planet's equivalent of downtown was home to various sporting events. However, tonight was a special event as a gladiatorial event was occuring within an hour; the "Champion of Kitano" as it was called was held once every month. Much like any other Earth sport, there would be only one crowned winner. Unlike back home, betting and gambling were encouraged on Kitano.
What the hell, Reese thought to himself, and he informed the Dockmaster he was leaving. He quickly spotted a speeder bike, or speeder ready for use; speeder bikes on Kitano were almost identical to the ones found in the Star Wars films, except with twin propulsion jets located on the undercarriage, and instead of two angular handles, the handles swept out into the shape of a compound bow, with small, digital clusters on the handle. Kitano's speeders were also much more refined than their movie counterparts.
The people of Kitano had a surplus of then, that many citizens simply placed them in different areas of the city, being able to be used for a low hourly rate.
Reese hopped on, and transferred ten credits to the speeder's onboard computer, and took off towards downtown, eager to watch the bloodsport about to go down.
