The night was dark and full of terrors.
Most people struggle to find sleep in new, unfamiliar places. I am one of those people.
You would assume that after the tolling, physical day I had yesterday I would be out like a light, but truth was, I wasn't. Just when I thought I might drift off into a slumber, the sounds of horses neighing, Dothraki fighting or fucking, or even the crackle of a fire, scared me awake and my blood run cold. This was a new setting, living outside with able-bodied, needy warriors, thousands of men who could overpower me within a second. At the end of the day, they could slaughter us and move on with their lives and no one would even bat an eyelash.
I could only imagine what my siblings where going through, mainly Dany.
Since her wedding to the Khal I had rarely seen her and only muttered a handful of words to her. She no longer was just a princess of house Targaryen, she was now a queen to this big horde of Dothraki, a Khaleesi. Which meant she now means something to these people, whether or not they actually respect her to lead them is another question. I can barely understand the Dothraki language to really interpret what they say. Besides she is always being guarded by the Khal and his men or mainly that Westerosian Knight, who for some reason has stuck with us on our journey.
My brother on the other hand, I have observed him to be quite annoyed with the travelling. He despises the Dothraki people and their way of life. Deep down I know he isn't really acting out because he is awaiting his 'army', but it is only a matter of time. He is but a ticking explosion.
A Dothraki voice belonging to a male, echoed a little distance away snapping me from my thoughts.
I couldn't help but wonder if it belonged to the handsome stranger from last night, or reminisce the way he stalked me like prey and carried me to my tent. He was intoxicating, I wanted to be around him constantly, in his arms again, but he also intimidated me greatly.
Sadness overtook me like a dark cloud raining above. Admittedly I wouldn't be here any longer than my brother would be. I am too, promised to another, to bring in the great army for our attack on Westeros. I would be secluded from my sister, maybe even sold to someone in faraway lands. Tears stung at my eyes, and I felt defeated when one fell straight away down my cheek.
"Princess, Sorry to disturb you but we must get ready to move to new country." One of the ladies from last night briefly tapped on the tent wall made of animal hides and entered slowly. Quickly I put on a friendly smile and swiped at my tear-streaked face.
Surprisingly the sun was in fact rising already, which means I got zero sleep.
"Um, that's alright." My voice was timid and crackly from the early hours of the morning.
The lady scuffled inside carrying a small wooden crate of belongings. Last night I didn't get a good look at her appearance, but this morning I could really examine her under better circumstances. She wore the same leather and hide wrappings that most female horde members wore, only hers seemed more tattered than most others. Her hair was short and dark and twisted on top of her head intricately, dirt covered her face and she had a beautiful tan like all Dothraki sported. All together she was beautiful and only looked a few years older than myself.
