|Maddie|

I was in a field, a lavender field, the smell of the calming flower relaxed me. I looked around and I was suddenly in a barn and I noticed that the cows had googly eyes. I was now in a pool swimming like there was no tomorrow then I felt a smack on my face.

I woke up with a jolt. I looked around and scanned my surroundings, I was in the school library. I guess I fell asleep studying for next weeks history test.

The librarian, a friendly smile wearing Mrs. Oppo, had thrown a paper ball at me, waking me up.

I looked at the clock, 6:30pm. I decided to gather up my stuff and head to my one person apartment in the middle of town. It wasn't very fancy but it wasn't exactly cheap either. My actual house was located on the outskirts of town, far away from school. I decided to move out, with my parents permission of course, and they helped me with the moving process.

They pay for half of my rent and for my food while I pay the other half of the rent with the money I make from my after school job.

I had managed to get a cashier job that payed a decent amount at a local grocery place, I actually buy my groceries there as well. Luckily I didn't have work today.

I walked out of school, through the giant blue and silver gate. I walked over to my bike, I'm not talking about a motorbike, I'm talking about an actual bicycle. It was light blue with white accents, it had a giant white basket on the front and an extra seat in the back.

Putting my stuff in the basket, I release it from its chain and hop on.
Once I peddled out of the school parking lot, I took a left turn and then a right. In the distance you could see a three story building. I was renting half the second floor, as I said it wasn't very big but the place was homey and rustic, it screamed girly-girl. The dull, light brown hardwood floors and the off-white almost a yellow colored walls complemented each other quite nicely. The furniture and some of the kitchen utensils were wooden and the same color as the floor. The room had pastel pink and white accents.

Coming out of the elevator and hen greeted by my brown doormat, I grabbed my keys and unlocked the door that had '2A' written on it in gold, when u walk in you'd see the living room and kitchen, the kitchen was slightly levitated from the living room to make it feel more spacious, as it wasn't very big and it had white counter tops and wooden stools that I sit on when I eat breakfast.

The living room has my flat screen tv, which I stole from my old room back at my parents house. The coffee table was the same wood as the floor, under it was a fluffy white rug. My two seater couch was a really light gray and it had pastel pink pillows scattered on it.

The bathroom was white with the same wooden accents. My room walls were an off-white color with the same wood for my bed, table, closet, and floor. I have a second fluffy white rug which I placed under my bed. My sheets were pastel pink and I had cute little decorations in the small space that I call my room.

It might seem I have an overall unhealthy obsession with pastel pink, but I just went with the color scheme.

I walked over to my desk, opening my laptop. I clicked on a file that contained all my homework assignments that were due tomorrow.

Grabbing my phone I decide to be the procrastinator that I am and scroll through Instagram.

Checking my notifications, I had gotten tagged in a post. One of my best friends Lilianna Schuyler, otherwise known as Lily, had posted the pictures we had taken from the fun fest last year at our school with the caption

"Can't wait to have a repeat of last year. So excited for tomorrow."

I smiled at the post, it was a picture with all of my best friends in it. Patrick Howard, Kaliya Green, and Lilliana Schuyler. In the picture, Patrick had been eating an ice cream cone but it fell right when Lily had taken the picture.

I laughed so hard that day and many days after that, maybe months.

Kaliya and Patrick were dating, and honestly they were way too cute in public. It makes everyone around them feel single and lonely as freak.

The sound of my phone ringing snapped me out of my trance, I answered it without even looking at the caller ID.

"Yellow?" I said, I always use yellow instead of hello, it had started off as a joke but it had stuck with me.

"Yellow to you too," I recognized that voice a little bit too well.

"What do you want from me, idiot brother of mine," I stated in monotone.

"Don't be such a killjoy, I'm calling you to remind you about tomorrow's blind date," He stated, somewhat annoyed.

"Did mom call you to remind me?" I asked, my tone making it really obvious that I was incredibly annoyed.

"Well duh, I could care less about your personal life," He snorted.

"It's a mutual feeling, Mason."

"Anyway.." He trailed off, as if he was trying to remember something.

"Next Monday at the cafe next to your school, 6pm. Don't be late, from mom," He said then I heard the line go silent.

Did he just hang up on me? Oh my gosh, he is so gonna die the next time I visit him at his dumb college.

Putting on a jacket and slipping my phone into one of the pockets, I locked the door and headed for the elevator. Hitting the down button, I waited for it to arrive.

With a 'bing' the doors opened revealing a tall guy holding three large boxes in his arms, I couldn't see his face as box number three blocked the way.

Looking at his arms, you could tell he was lean but fit, he was also about 6ft tall if my eyes weren't lying. How's the dude 6ft, I'm 5'6.

Now 5'6 might be tall, but Mason was 6ft too and he always calls me shorty which made no sense.

They guy was about to ram into me before I said, "Hey, wait a second."

The guy took a step back almost like he was surprised that some one was there.

"Owh, I'm sorry I didn't realize someone was there," The guys said, he's voice was surprisingly smooth and pleasant to the ears.

"Oh..uhm..it's fine," I said "Do you need any help?" I offered, I mean he could trip over he's own two feet with those boxes blocking his view.

"Yes..uhm could you direct me to unit 2B?" He asked, so he was the new guy that was moving in the apartment in front of mine.

"So you're my new neighbor," I said grabbing his arm and dragging him to the door in front of mine.

"Well yeah, my school was pretty far away from where I lived before," He replied, one of his hands went into his jean pocket and pulled out a key.

How'd he manage to carry three boxes with one hand?

"Could you open the door for me?" He asked giving me the key.

"Yeh sure."

I opened the door and from what I could see the place was very modern but it had a homey feel to it. I gave him back the keys and told him I had to go.

"Well see you around," He said before closing the door with his foot, as I walked back over to the elevator once again pressing the down button.
