my feet move underneath me as fast as they can, I hear the snapping of twigs behind me, I push and push as fast as I can when I see houses infront if me. I get onto a street and look around me, zombies, zombies everywhere. Maybe this wasnt the best idea I look around me for an escpae, I spot a house with no zombies at it. I sprint as fast as I can to get to the house, when I reach the front lawn my legs for some reason won't move me anywhere. I fall to my knees as if there is a weight on my body, I try and try to get up but I can't. Something from behind me growls, I turn my head and see the zombies approaching, I struggle to get up but its not gonna work. I turn around again the zombies are only a few metres away, I look closely and see that the closest zombie is my mother, first the bitch ruins my life and now she's gonna end it. I try one more time to get up but fail. I look at the zombies around me waiting for one to launch itself at me. But then my dead mother opens her mouth.
"Jamie, it's time to get up." I look at her with a weird expression one because she's a zombie and two because she sounds like my brother. "Jamie get the hell up."
My eyes slowly open and I take in my surroundings, light is shining through my window, and my brother is standing next to my bed with a bucket. Why is my brother in my room? realisation hits me and so does the contents of that bucket. I jump out of bed as the icy cold water soaks through my snug pajamas. As I stand on the other side of my bed drenched in water I look at him with a look on my face that is crossed between shocked and angry.
"What the hell?" I ask my brother trying to be calm. He shrugs innocently "you slept in." I look over at my clock '7:05' what is wrong with him. "I slept in by like 5 minutes you dickfuck." I stand up whilst death glaring my brother. I clench my fists and my brother takes this a a his signal to leave. I stomp over to my drawers and yank out the clothes I'm going to wear today, I make my way out of my room and to the shower.
I finish my shower and finish getting changed. I finish applying all the essentials like deodorant, makeup ect. I skip out of the bathroom, down the stairs and into the kitchen to see my father making breakfast "What cha making old man?" I question jokingly. Dad glares at me playfully and turns back to what ever he's making "Nun ya business, cause you're not getting any." He states in a matter of fact tone, I roll my eyes at him and grab a breakfast bar out of our practically empty pantry. "I'm gonna starve to death dad, you need to go shopping, all we have is these disgustingly healthy yogurt bars." I tell him and walk out of the kitchen.
I run back into my room and put my shoes on, I grab $10.00 and shove it in my bag then head out. I walk down stairs again and back into the kitchen to say goodbye. Dad is still cooking, I walk up and give him a hug "See ya round 11:00 tonight I have a long shift at work." I lie smoothly, I kiss dad on the cheek and leave.
The car beeps after I press the button on my keys. I chuck my bag in the back of the car next to my boxing bag. I jump in the front seat and start the ignition, backing out of the driveway like I do everyday, I look behind me to make sure no one is coming then I get on the road and start my 10 minute drive to school.
I park in my usual spot and get out of my car. I grab my bag then lock up so no one steals my shit. I pull my hood over my head and walk into the building of school.
After what feels like forever I finally spot full head of purple hair bouncing through the crowd of students. "Chloe." I yell over the people, a few girls with the same name look at me but I ignore them and keep calling for my Chloe. I'm about to scream her name again when two hands cover my eyes, I whip around and come face to face with my other best friend Sam. I give her a hug and then start dragging her through the crowds to get this deaf chick Chloe. And no she isn't really deaf, she just listens to her music on full.
I grab Chloe's shoulder and she jumps in surprise, she turns round and looks at me with a smile on her face, and what do you know her earphones are on full blast. I rip them out of her ear "Music is for class, not for when your friends are screaming your name from across the hall alright." I tell her sternly, Chloe salutes me with a "Yes Ma'am" before she starts gossiping about some new hot guy that has just started here. I wasn't really paying attention apparently because the girls ended up yelling at me for not listening to them.
