~Auburn's POV
After that day at the zoo, I feel kinda safe. Andreas spends the night often and sometimes I stay at his place. Which by the way is as gorgeous as ever. He always wants to talk about my past in Cali but I'm not ever up for it. I pray to God he hasn't told anybody, the less people know the better. Vanessa thinks I did the right thing telling him, but yet I'm still unsure. Then again that was a week ago.
"Auburn you good?" Davis asks, coming into the back room.
I hadn't realized I was staring at nothing.
"Yeah, I'm good." I smile reassuringly.
"So, apparently we have a new DJ coming in tonight." He says going through his locker.
"Oh really? Why if it's our last night until remodeling is done?" I ask confused.
"T, wants to try him out to see where it goes. I think his name is Dante or something." He shrugs.
"Lets go meet him, is he here?" I ask putting on my silver sparkly pumps.
"I think he's still in T's office. But we can go see." He offers.
I grab his hand and we walk out to go find this new guy. I would pretend to give him a hard time but I'm too nice and wouldn't play along all that well.
"Aye where's Jazz?" I ask as we continue walking throughout the club.
"Somewhere out there acting childish with Jarvis." He laughs.
"They act like the biggest kids sometimes. It's cute." I smirk. Job well done.
"I wish me and my boyfriend were like that. But he won't even come out to his family which sucks majorly."
"I didn't know you had a boyfriend, D. How long have you two been dating?"
"3 almost 4 months and he still won't say anything. I'm thinking about calling it quits, I don't deserve to be reduced to anybody's secret."
"You don't and four months is way too long to wait for him to come out. You do what you have to, to make yourself happy."
"Thanks, look there's Dante." He says pointing to the DJ station.
We walk up and smile greeting him.
"Hey, I'm Auburn, this is Davis." I say introducing us.
"I'm Dante, how long have you two worked here?" He asked.
"Since I was 19, so four years." Davis replies.
"I started four months ago." I shrug.
"Did you just move here or something?" He asked setting up his DJ equipment.
"Yeah, straight from Compton." I reply throwing my hands up.
Nobody knows I'm really from LA, that I'm married to Cali's "best athlete", or who Kayla's dad is except for Andreas. I plan to keep it that way for as long as I live. Or at least until all of my problems blow over so that way it's not even important.
"Oh, straight from the streets, huh?" He chuckles.
"Absolutely, that's all I know." I continue.
"While you two get acquainted, I'm gonna go set up the bar." Davis says walking away.
"I'll catch you after work, D." I say as he heads back down stairs. "Where are you from?" I ask.
"L.A. a friend of mine told me to come down here and check out this club."
Atlanta is the perfect place, I can see why he'd move down here.
