The Eagle and The Dragon

A flicker of faint candlelight

Lashes out against the dark.

An Eagle spreads it's mighty wings

And takes to silent flight.

For in the north, a mad King's work

Will rend the world afraid.

His mage of black cannot take back

The transgression he has made.

Above the world the Eagle soars

Beneath dark moon, o'er madman's wars.

Weapons of thunder tore flags asunder

And soon the gods had heard.

Then the final battle came, with flames of white and red.

The gods called the mad King's debt while his people slept in bed.

From far away the Eagle watched, its army at it's side.

It looked upon with starving eyes and knew that it must simply bide.

But too close the Eagle stood and it's feathers then caught fire.

Though the healer's song had since grown strong and the candle's light grew higher.

From the field of glass and ash the Eagle then did fly.

To home it fled to hide it's face or it knew it too would die.

The Queen safe in her court, just needed time to pass.

To build her strength to fight and set

Her world free at last.

The blaze of a candle lashes out against the dark.

With the northern kingdom gone, the southern makes it's mark.

A magic Queen of Black sits upon a jagged throne.

Alone she waits for someday soon

She will be strong enough to strike down the moon.
