As we both sat up in bed with the duvet still covering us Rowan's shocked face turned to look at me and I gave her a reassuring smile. There must have been something in my face that she picked up on as her gaze softened.

"Let me guess, you must be Anna?" Rowan directed her attention back to the door where Anna stood shyly playing with the hem of her pretty red summer dress that she was wearing with tights and a light pink jacket.

"Yes. How do you know that?" Was the wispy reply.

"How can I not know about the prettiest girl ever?"

"Really, you think I'm pretty?" Anna beamed as she raced over to the bed and jumped onto it.

"Of course, I told Rowan about my favourite sister," I interjected.

"Don't let Avery hear you say that," Rowan laughed.

"Is this your girlfriend, Aidan?" Anna asked as she perched on her knees between us on the bed with her gaze directly looking at Rowan who was sweetly smiling back at her.

"Sweetheart this is Rowan. Rowan, this is my baby sister Anna."

"Hi," Anna lunged at Rowan and threw her arms around her.

"Hi," Rowan replied, still groggy from sleeping but being awake enough to slowly rub Anna's back in comfort.

I smiled at the scene that had unfolded before my eyes just as Rowan looked up and caught my gaze.

"Hey, munchkin! Mum told you not to disturb Aidan," I heard the familiar voice of my brother come around the corner and stop dead in the doorway of my room. His eyes swept from Rowan to me and a shit-eating grin formed on his face.

Rowan pulled back from Anna and her eyes uncomfortably gazed towards my brother Adam, who was a year and a half younger than us. "Well, this is interesting," Adam toyed.

"Don't you have a wife out there waiting for you?" I retorted.

"Fine. I'm sure the whole family will want to hear about this anyway," the bastard smirked.

"Yes, let's tell mummy about Aidan's new girlfriend!"

"Thanks, bro. Now you've done it," I facepalmed myself as Anna darted up off the bed and over to Adam.

"You know nothing can be kept secret in this family," Adam shrugged before he took Anna's hand, walked her out of the room and closed the door behind them.

"Sorry, I completely forgot about today," I sighed.

"What's today?" Rowan pulled back the duvet and stepped out of bed.

"Family picnic."

"Oh, I can leave and give you all some space if you want me to?" I watched Rowan's brows crease together as though she was actually serious about leaving.

"No," I walked around the bed and grabbed her waist before she could slip into the bathroom, "besides we're not having the picnic in the apartment so you don't have to leave," I laughed.

"It's family time, you don't want me to hang around whilst they're here."

"I always want you around. Why don't you come with us?" I kissed Rowan's neck in an attempt to persuade her.

"You want me to come on a date with you and your huge family?" Rowan chuckled.

"Yes, I really would love that, if you would like to come?" I tried to give her the best puppy dog eyes I could and I had no idea if it worked.

"I would love to," Rowan smiled.

Yes! It worked!

I felt my pulse race at the thought, I didn't expect Rowan to bow down so quickly. I thought I would have to do a lot of seduction in order to get her to agree.
