Isra stood infront of the train watching it as the thunder rumbled and the wind howled around her. It had been many years since the train had moved, it was frozen in time much like a picture. Everything in the small town was frozen in time. Isra could remember seeing cars driving up and down the streets, hearing the sounds of an ice cream truck and the sound of excited children that followed.

She would likely never here or see those things again. So like a photo she had to treasure those memories. Those memories often kept Isra company and as wandered around the country side before always returning to her small home. Atleast she could still hear the birds chirping during the day.

Isra stepped off the tracks and looked around at her surroundings just incase there was anything lurking in the shadows. When she saw nothing she let out a sigh and began her walk home before being reminded by her growling stomach that she needed to get some food.

The grocery store and the bakery had done been raided long ago, she wouldnt find any food to eat there. The restraunt had been empty even before... the event.

Isra unstrapped her gun from her back and loaded a bullet into it as she headed into the woods. It wasnt a long walk to get to the woods, after all the trees loomed over the entire town. Like a reminder of how nature was taking back its territory.

She ventured into the forest, walking down a old biking trail listening for any creatures that she could shoot but the thundering of the storm deafened her. It would be near impossible to hunt in these conditions, but she would atleast like a squirrel. She hated going to sleep hungry.

After an hour Isra ended up at the end of the bike trail, with nothing but an empty stomach and some wet clothes to show for her efforts. Now she also had to walk home in the rain. She wondered why she tortured herself like this sometimes. Nothing good came from walking out in the rain like this. Infact the only thing walking in the rain seemed to do for Isra was get her sick.

She spent several minutes trudging through the mud and rain Isra finally arrived home, she lived in a cabin and had been living in a cabin for quite some time. Even before the event she lived here. It had always been her sanctuary.

She reached a hand out for the door knob when she heard a snap of a twig behind her. She slowly lowered her hand. Her heart pounding in her chest as a million thoughts ran through her mind. What if it was a bob cat? Or a wild boar? Could it be a deer?

She unstrapped her gun from her back again, loading a bullet in it as she turned around. She was met with something she had not seen in a very very long time.

It was another person, and they were injured.

Just as isra made eye contact with this other person they fell over onto the muddy wet grass. Instinctively isra dropped her gun and ran to her side observing the injuries and having a panic about what to do. Isra wasnt strong enough to carry her inside. Maybe a few steps at most.

Looking around isra spotted exactly what she needed. The old wheelbarrow that she and her mother would use to carry bags of potting soil. Isra tore herself away from the girl's side and ran to the wheel barrow.

Isra poured the water out of it and brought it close to the new girl. She bent down and picked them up, letting out a groan as she struggled to place them in the wheel barrow. She didnt have time to waste and carted them inside her house after picking up her gun that she dropped in the doorway.

She couldnt get her upstairs so the bathroom would have to do. Placing the girl in the tub isra began to clean her up and take care of her injuries. She wasnt professionally trained but her grandmother was a nurse and left behind old medical books after her passing. Though they were 15  or more years out of date they still had valuable knowledge that was proving useful.

When isra finished she stood up and looked down at the girl who's shirt she had to remove. It was torn and muddy, definently not something she would wear again. Or atleast isra wouldnt. Isra decided to head upstairs to grab a change of clothes for her. Hopefully she wouldnt be mad at her for removing her shirt.

Isra walked up stairs and opened her closet looking at all her old clothes. Hopefully something would fit her guest. They seemed pretty close in size but she wanted to make sure. Isra grabbed an old sweatshirt as she heard a loud thud from downstairs.

Rushing to see what had happened she was greeted to the sight of her guest face first on the ground right outside the bathroom attempting to get up. Isra slowly approached as she talked is a somewhat calm manner. "Hey, are you okay? Im sorry for the lack of a shirt but you got injured and it was torn up."

The girl looked up at isra and practically glared daggers. "Do i look like im doing okay?" The girl pushed herself off the ground slowly until she was in a sitting posistion. Once she was in a sitting posistion isra walked over and handed her a sweatshirt before taking a few steps back and sitting down aswell.

"Im sorry for snapping at you, my name is Embry." The girl, Embry, looked at her side and grimaced. "I dont even know how i got injured, my memory is foggy of the past week."

"Probably the shock, im not sure what happened either but it looked like large claw marks. Im surprised that you are actually up right now." Isra knew that is she was the one with the injury that she would still likely but out like a light. Especially with the fact that it was like a singular cut, no, it was like claw marks. Isra didnt know of anything with claws large enough to do that.

"I honestly cant tell you. My memories of the past week are foggy. Like you said its probably the stress." By now embry had put the sweatshirt on and was suffienctly covered up.

Suddenly Isra jumped slightly as if startled which prompted the same to happen to Embry. "What happened why did you jump like that all of a sudden?"

"I just realized that you told me your name but i hadnt told you mine." Isra reached a hand out "my name is isra, its a pleasure, somewhat, to meet you embry."

Embry reached out a hand and gave isra a handshake. "Likewise. I wish we could have met under other circumstances."

It was so simple, the two sentences. A simple exchange of names. But often those two sentences are the beginning of many amazing things. Neither Embry nor Isra knew what would happen but perhaps its for the best.
