"I'M SORRY," Grizz looked up from his hands and glanced over at Clark who was looking at the floor.

"What?"

"For getting aggressive at you, I shouldn't have acted that way."

It was two in the morning and the two guys didn't bother to sleep. They were too worried for Charlotte.

Grizz shook his head, "You were scared for Char, everyone was. I understand why you acted that way."

Clark let out a deep sigh, "I watched her seize twice man.. It was fucking scary." Clark looked up and then looked over at Charlotte. "I've never seen her so.. Afraid.. She was so pale, she was shaking bad, she was sweating and she wanted to die.."

Grizz gulped at the last part. It was hard to see Charlotte ready to give up, and it made him think if that's how Charlotte truly felt over these past six months since she had such a huge responsibility in town.

"She's okay now, Clark."

"I know, but she wasn't.."

Grizz shook his head, "Hey, I'm sorry for not coming earlier."

Clark slowly nodded his head, his eyes moving to Grizz and his eyebrow raised, "Where were you the entire night? You weren't even at the football game."

Grizz went silent. Clark's stare was sharp on Grizz and Grizz couldn't think of an excuse fast enough. It was as if God answered his prayers since his saviour came to his rescue.

"Did I just resurrect? 'Cause I swore I died."

Clark snapped his head toward Charlotte who was staring blankly at the ceiling.

"Char!" Clark stood from his seat as Grizz leaned over at Charlotte.

"Are you okay? How are you feeling?"

Charlotte tried to sit up but her hands were preoccupied. She looked down at her hands to see both boys holding it. Clark sheepishly let go while Grizz still held onto hers and helped her sit up.

Clark glanced between Charlotte and Grizz, noticing how Grizz was entirely focussed on the girl and was doing everything to help her. Clark scratched the back of his head.

"I-I'll uh, get you some water, Char."

Charlotte tiredly nodded at Clark as Grizz took a seat on the bed beside Charlotte.

"How are you feeling? I'm sorry I didn't come sooner.."

Charlotte shook her head, "It's okay, I'm sorry for interrupting you."

Grizz stared incredulously at Charlotte, "Are you kidding me Char? You almost fucking died."

Charlotte cracked a small grin, "Too bad I didn't."

"Char.."

Charlotte chuckled, "I'm joking, I'm a bad bitch, you can't kill me." Charlotte said, trying to lighten the mood.

Grizz couldn't help but laugh at her.

Clark watched the two from the other side of the clinic. Grizz had pulled Charlotte in for a hug and wrapped his arms around her shoulders. Charlotte closed her eyes and leaned into his embrace. Clark averted his eyes and continued to search for a water bottle but all he could find so far was Pedialyte. So he kept searching to take his mind off the ex-couple.
