"You're right on time! Okay, your chart says Hellenic. Got your coin for the Ferryman? No? Alright, here's the deal, sign here, River Styx is down the hall, third on your left. Hope you brought a book for the next hundred years. Hey, I dont make the rules, Felix! What do you think a last will and testament is for?" Death chuckles, the look of disbelief always gets him.
"Gina, almost had you there in '93 with that heart attack, eh? Anyway, Catholic right? Take a right, St. Peter is waiting behind the gates, he'll give you your next assignment."
"Hey boss, this one doesn't believe in the afterlife or having a soul, I'm heading to a little Wiccan girl in Utah," A faerie whispers.
"Sanjay, nice long life you had there buddy, so you remember where The Great Revolving door of Reincarnation is- oh wait, you qualify for Nirvana. Look at you!"
Death pats Sanjay's back as he enters the door to Nirvana.
"So, Sam, you're... agnostic. Go to Brittany in Office 678, she can discuss your options with you." Brittany waves out of her office for Sam to find.
And the day continued just as so, with Death and the workers pointing people where they are meant to go, of course, Atheists became new workers, with faeries instructing them in trial. The hardest part was of course the agnostics, who didn't quite know what to believe but they were finished within a couple of minutes.
Death sat in his office, looking at the incoming reports. 1,236 Christians, 465 Wiccans, 209 Atheists, 103 Hellenics, 90 Agnostics, 65 Reincarnated, 43 in Nirvana, and 1 unknown. Death reached for his intercom, "Puck! To my office, now!" He boomed, within seconds the male fae had entered.
"Boss, boss, what's going on?"
"The reports, Puck, why is there an unknown? Everyone has a place!"
"I don't know boss, I didn't hear about it!" The shrill ring of a phone set them silent, Puck grabbed it, placing it so he and Death could both hear.
"Sir," Brittany's voice whispers "I don't know where to put this one, I thought she was agnostic. I don't think she is."
"Send her over," Death hastily replies and Puck hangs up.
"How can this be?"
