"Mom, Dad, we have to leave. Skylar's f-family has been taken, they might come back," I tell my parents, fighting to control the tears. Who knows the next time I'll be able to see my best friend and her parents.

"How do you know?" Dad snaps, ruffling his hair.

Him and Mom have been fighting a lot lately, and they're both always in bad moods. I guess it's what he deserves.. he decided to cheat.

I don't have the heart to tell Mom even though I know that I should. Maybe it's because she already looks so torn up. Maybe it's the fact that I want her to find out for herself. I'm not completely sure which idea to go with.

"Let's go check," Mom says, already pulling on a light coat. It was bright outside, so she didn't need a heavy one.

"Are you crazy? The werewolves could be waiting there!"

"I doubt it, they most likely would've just taken them," Dad says, putting a jacket on. It was frustrating how indifferent he seemed.

"If you go, I go," I say firmly as I put on my jacket.

For the first time in about three days, Mom has another emotion other than anger and sadness in her eyes.

Worry.

"No, you can't go," she says, her voice hard.

"If you can risk yourself, then I can risk myself," I say, breezing past a stunned Mom and Dad.

I was tired of there stupid arguing. It was starting to put me in a bad mood and I was usually positive. They argue like little kids instead of having a civil conversation. I could hear every single curse word they throw at each other and my Mom telling my Dad to sleep outside like the dog he is. Dad wouldn't though, and so they'd argue about that.

When they're not arguing, they are obviously trying to ignore and avoid each other. It was really annoying, petty stuff that you wouldn't expect adults to do.

I trip suddenly, and fall right beside Skylar's Dad.

I scream, scrambling to my feet.

"What-"

"No," Dad whispers. "Michael."

Mr. Ramirez lay on the ground, his neck at an unnatural position, with a purple tint to it. A puddle of dry blood surrounded his head, giving him a more sinister look.

His eyes were wide and blank, staring straight ahead.

His skin was a green/ bluish color, and gave off a horrid smell. Maggots crawled over him and ants covered his hands.

He was like another Dad to me. I can't believe he's gone.

"We have to go."

Skylar

I push him off of me, angry tears spilling out my eyes.

He stole my first kiss. There was no re-do, I couldn't take it back. So now, my first boyfriend can't have my first kiss.

"You've ruined everything," I wail, covering my face and sniffling.

"What did I ruin? All I did was kiss you," Ryder says, his voice amused.

"I was supposed to have my first kiss with my first boyfriend, and now I can't do that," I explain, rubbing at my eyes.

"I'll be your first boyfriend, you won't have anyone other than me," Ryder growls, and his eyes flash black.

I felt frustration build inside me. It seemed to consume every blood cell, every vein in my brain and my heart.

"I don't want you! I hate you! You and all the other stupid werewolves can go rot in Hell! Have fun too! And yes, I am Skylar. What are you going to do about it! Huh? Nothing. Nothing at all."
