The rest of the day at the mall was mild. I had a few classmates come up to me and say hi but other than that is was completely quiet. The drive back home was filled with more horrible singing and laughter. Jamie gave me a few new artists names to listen to and helped me set up a spotify account. we were jamming to some good tunes from before I left, Jamie almost broke down from the nostalgia.

As we were approaching the house, I saw an unfamiliar pick up truck parked behind Jamie's. I felt the Alpha in the backseat tense up and bristle. His beast was itching to show his teeth and take down the threat to his female. Jamie leaned forward in suspicion but later slumped against her seat in annoyance.

"Jamie, you know who that is?" I slowed down and parked while catching her annoyed huff as she pulls out her phone and started typing.

"Yeah, I do. Whatever happens, don't get out of the car. Don't let him see you."

She opened the door as soon as her phone let out a beep. She closed the door and marched angrily to the car. I watched with interest until my own phone beeped. It was Jamie, she was still a few feet away from the car.

JBear: Whatever happens, don't let your brute of a mate out. If he knew who it was, he'd probably kill him.

I read it quickly before I put my phone away. I reached back and grabbed his knee. I hoped that the contact would be enough to calm him down so that his instincts didn't force to leave. I find myself marvelling at the new information that I'm starting to remember. It's honestly a life saver in moments like this. I feel his hand brush over mine, sending little sparks up my arm. It was not a strong as it was the first time, but it felt somehow sweeter. It felt warm and tingly. Surprise from the sparks somehow turned into a deep awareness of him. I always knew where he was in the house, how far away from me he was and if his eyes ever wandered over to me when we're far away from each other.

It was nice, but no matter how much I want to, something was holding me back. From fully accepting the bond. I know that we had marked each other but our bond was so weak that it was almost in a coma. It was slowly coming back to life but I felt as if I was lacking something. Maybe there is something in my memories that will remind me but as for now, i keep my distance. I never let our kisses get too far or let him sleep in my bed and vice versa. He also seems slightly hesitant to mark me, but I was thankful for that. I didn't know what would happen if he was ready to do it but I just feel like it wouldn't be an good outcome.

My thoughts were disturbed by Jamie screaming at the guy in the car and looking like she was grabbing his collar. I could see Nox in the rear view mirror watching intently, but he was ready to pounce. the doors were locked but i doubt that it was enough to hold a full grown Alpha back.  I took off my seat belt and turned to face him. His eyes were hidden behind the new shades we bought him but his emotions were seeping through his skin.

"Nox, I remembered something." I said cautiously but surprised too as the memory flashed before my eyes.

"What is it?" he leaned forward.

I smiled deviously, why don't we step outside and run to the backdoor?" he smiled knowingly.

"I don't think you're fast enough, mate." he was smirking.

"Is that a challenge, Alpha?" I teased him. I felt his growl vibrate through his chest. I took that as a yes and opened the door to get a head start.

He loves a good challenge and the only one he'd allow to to talk to him like that was me. I ran like a bat out of hell and he followed after 10 seconds.

Lets just say that we tied, our energies were high and we sat there laughing at how close we each were to winning. I was slightly out of breath, but in the good way. He didn't even look like he ran, which is totally unfair in my opinion.

A few minutes later, I could hear the unfamiliar car drive away as Jamie walked towards us.

"Finally! I thought he'd never leave." She huffed in annoyance. She then turned to me with a raised eyebrow. "Aren't you going to lock your car? Your shopping is still inside." I sighed and nodded. I was walking back when I felt him behind me.

"Im perfectly fine on my own, you know."

I felt his dominance push forward a bit. I made the hairs on my arms and neck stand. "I'm not letting you out of my sight again."

I just nodded and continued walking. I felt a deep understanding dawn on me. We were mates and he hadn't marked me yet, which means that he's super territorial right now. Without his mark on my neck, I was fair game to anyone who wanted me. Not that I'd ever let that happen but he was just acting out of instinct so I couldn't complain about him or his beast. They were one and adamant on keeping me safe.

I got in and started the car up so i could park it in the garage. I got out to see him staring into the distance. I got out and followed his gaze to see a man standing beside the car that was parked in front of my house a few minutes ago. His face looked in shock, staring over to us. But once I realized who it was, his name left my mouth in a tone that i have never heard myself in.

"George?"
