In My Veins

Lucas just walked into the cottage, back from his first day of school. The stares and dirty looks he got just in a single day nearly drove him mad. When being asked how school was he had nothing good to say about it, not a single thing. A few years ago he'd never thought he'd see the day where he'd claim he missed his old high school, but he did. Looking back at it, he was angry that he didn't appreciate the things he had before, especially school. Hell, there was a moldy corner in his math class room, if what they taught there even classified as math, it was so simplified. He was basically ahead of everybody even though he missed so much school. How little did they teach the deviant children? On top of being the boy who 'became' deviated, he now was a nerd. Life was about to get much worse and there was nothing he could do about it. He pulled out his journal and flipped passed the empty pages to the last page, where two names were written down; Frederick Collins, Donovan Isiah. Donovan's name was crossed out, he knew it was probably a bad idea to write a list of enemies, dead or alive, but he still did anyways. For some reason he couldn't shake the feeling that he'd have to make the list longer.
Eventually, he found himself outside and sparring with Mathius, it helped him with his emotions. "You're giving in too much thought! This should be instinct by now!" Mathius shouted. English, it meant he was trying to get a point across. Mathius throws Lucas into the ground, "I thought I needed to say it English for you to get the point!" Still English, he was patronizing Lucas. Lucas gets up and charges, ax swinging. "How about instead of trying to hurt me, you get the damn job done and take me down" Mathius' training strategy was obvious to Lucas now, he was trying to get him riled up, Lucas felt like a fool for taking so long to figure it out. Once training was over he found himself sorting through the last of the wood that they gathered for the spring. When the snow started to melt they gathered wood for the spring so they can focus on growing food and herb collecting. Now, it was soon time to get more wood and hope that the ever raising global temperature didn't dry out their crops. Mathius walked up to Lucas, breaking his thought process "Jeg gikk en tur i skogen i morges" (I went for a walk in the woods this morning). Lucas looked up at Mathius, "Hvis du skal drepe noen, foreslår jeg at du skjuler kroppen bedre." (If you're going to kill somebody, I suggest you hide your body better). "Hvordan visste du at det var meg?" (How did you know it was me?) Lucas asked, curious because it didn't seem like anybody specific. "Da jeg så at en øks gjorde jobben, var det en heldig gjetning." (When I saw that an ax did the job, it was a lucky guess). This sucked, he was probably going to get kicked out, "Jeg vet at det var ute av forsvaret. Hvis du skal drepe folk, trenger du bedre trening." (I know it was out of defense though, if you're going to be killing people though, you need better training)
That was when Mathius brought out his gun, at first Thea protested, but Mathius made the argument that he would be a man soon. Lucas needed to know how to use a gun, but Mathius didn't know Lucas' true intentions. Thea peered into Lucas' journal one night and found out his plans to kill Frederick Collins. Thea told Mathius and Mathius seemed to support Lucas, Lucas hid his journal from that point forward. Him and Mathius then had a long conversation about justice. Lucas knew that once he killed Collins, he had to do the same to others, he didn't have the luxury of being only able to kill one person. Mathius told him to go down that path meant destruction to himself and others, at this point Lucas just wanted to avenge his mother.
After 2 months of training it was halfway through the summer, from the time he spent training, he turned 18, graduated high school, beat up a school bully at the grad party, the list went on. Before heading out he pried off the tracker and tied it to a sleeping deer, once he took off the tracker it made a beeping noise, indicating that Lucas took it off. He ran, now that he took off the tracker he couldn't go back to Thea and Mathius at the cottage, he was alone. It was time to man up.

Lucas found himself across the street from Collins' house, it was a journey to get there; Killing him at the mutant services office would be suicide, so he followed him home. Of course, following a man when you're a wanted person proved to be a challenge, he had to avoid cameras and even take the sewers to get there. After about a week of being the shadow of Frederick Collins, he was ready to strike for the kill like a cobra.
He moved closer to the house, sneaking passed a few staff and hiding in a bush. He noticed that Collins had security cameras monitoring almost every square inch of the place. Lucas was no hacker, but he knew how to cut off Collins' power. Working against the cameras, he managed to make his way to the breaker box and he cut the power. As soon as the power was cut off the staff went into emergency mode, and Collin's rushed for his basement. So far it was working perfectly. He climbed in through the small basement window and waited for him. As soon as he locked his door, he turned around and saw Lucas. "You!" Lucas narrowed his eyes "Me? Well who am I to you?" Time to play games. Collins' turned around and tried to run but Lucas threw a knife at his calve. He fell to the ground with a cry, "Why are-are you doing this?" He chocked out with a pathetic sob. Lucas circles him like a vulture circling prey "Take a wild guess" he aims his pistol at Collins' head, "Give me one good reason". Collin's was sobbing at this point, "I-I-I can get you in, I'll b-b-be your guide through the building." Lucas laughs, "Oh, if I wanted that, I'd still kill you".
Collins made a battle cry and threw himself on top of Lucas, knocking his gun out of his hands. Lucas just stabbed Collins multiple times, the blood spewed out of his body and leaked all over the hardwood floor. Lucas stood up, looking disheveled and his nose was bleeding slightly. He watched as Collins tried to reach for his gun, taking the knife out of Collins' calve he heard a cry of pain. He walked over to his gun and quickly picked it up, he picked up the gun "Veiled dette, Fittetryne." (Guide this, Cuntface.) and aimed at his head. Collins let out one last sob before Lucas pulled the trigger. His head hit the floor with a thunk as Lucas looked around the room for any trace he was there, looking at the body he knew he had to hide it, but he decided to do something, in the spur of the moment. He wrote a message on the wall.... 'This Is Your Swan Song'
He escaped the window, but what was the meaning of what he wrote on the wall?

It means his story is far from over.

Author's note
IMPORTANT: Things in the bold are important to remember and will come back later in the story.
WHOO! I'm happy to say that this story is finally taking off. I'm excited to write the ark that I'm planning for Lucas. About Thea and Mathius, don't worry they'll be coming back to the story.
Where's Lucas going to go, what's he going to do? Find out next time.
