It was a stormy night and everything was dark. Jade West Field was a normal kid, living in peaceful California. She had two sisters, Kitty and Margot. Her father was a single parent, who lost his wife in a car accident. To add to his troubles, Jade's little brother, Pete, was autistic. That stormy night, Jade's sisters were watching a movie Jade was studying upstairs in her room. Suddenly she heard a knock from her window. It was Josh.Josh was Jade's next door neighbor and also Margot's boyfriend, but what was worse is that Jade had a crush on him .He was cold and shivering, and soaked to the bone. Jade opened the window"What are you doing out there? It's freezing!""My parents were fighting again. Anyway, why didn't you tell me, J?"Josh asked. Jade froze.'What is he talking about?'Jade wondered."You know Chris is a bad influence! She goes out for booze and hooks up with boys! I care about you!"Then he cleared his throat."You are like my little sister!""What!?"Jade shouted. She was furious."You don't care about me at all, do you?You don't even know me that well! You can't tell me who to hang out with! Plus, I don't even know why you even bothered to come here!I don't want you here!" He frowned sadly. It was obvious that he was hurt.'Oh no! What have I done?!'She thought. Josh opened his mouth to say something, but to their horror, they heard the unmistakable scream of Margot, followed by sobbing. They shared a scared glance before rushing down the stairs, Jade taking the lead. They gasped when they saw why Margot had screamed. They found 5 men, all wearing only black. 2 of them holding Margot by the neck, having her in a neck lock.. Another was holding Kitty and suffocating her with a handkerchief. And another was holding little Pete, still playing his video game. But one of them was wearing grey instead of black. He was holding a gun, pointed straight at Jade."What are you doing to them? Let them go!"Jade shouted at him."Feisty, I like it. But there's nothing you can do. Now, we must get down to business." He grinned.Jade peered at Josh out of the corner of her eye.Suddenly, everything went black.

Sam Temple was an ordinary boy who was quiet and hardly spoke to anybody. He had a nickname, 'Bus-driver-Sammy'One day, when all of them were driving back to school from a field trip from an art museum, the bus driver, Dan, fainted, leaning his head against the steering wheel. They were about to crash into a local supermarket when Sam jumped to the rescue, swerving out of the supermarket's way and neatly parked the bus safely in one of the vacant parking spaces meant for bigger buses(e.g local buses).Thankfully, nobody was hurt. For some reason, his courage was not thanked for long. He was appreciated by the children and their parents, but no staff came to acknowledge his bravery.Sam was in his math class. The most boring class ever, with the most boring teacher ever in the world, Mr.Minglefeed.Why would he be at school in the middle of the night because he is in detention for driving a school bus without permition. How preposterous! He was slumped in his chair, waiting for the bell signaling the end of that period. Just as Mr. Minglefeed was handing out the marked test sheets, the principal, Mr.Skinner's voice echoed out of the intercom, calling Sam Temple to his office.'What did I do now?'He got up, and walked to the exit, eager eyes burning into his back and neck. As he closed the door behind him, he heard a ear-splitting scream from Classroom 24 ......Astrid! He thought. Sam ran, pushing past anything that was in his way, apologizing to those he had shoved out of his way. When he got to the door leading into Classroom 24, he pushed the door open, hearing a big thud......His eyes opened wide. A man wearing only grey had a gun pressed to Sam's sweating head.. 2 people were holding down Sacha, one of Astrid's best friends. Sacha had coffee brown eyes with dark brown hair like black. .She was struggling to escape from the hard grasp of the 2 men, but she wasn't going to get loose anytime soon, and Sacha knew it."Stay down or else I'll slit your mouth!" One of them shouted. Sam wondered how nobody could hear this happening.Another was holding down Hannah. .Hannah was a very small person, and she loved doing gymnastics."Really, Hannah? Now?" Sam cried, staring at Hannah. She shrugged."Shut up." The man in the grey whispered in his ear.Hannah was holding a book, reading peacefully. It looked like one of the school textbooks. The man didn't even need to hold her down. It seemed like Hannah wouldn't move unless she really had to, or if she wanted to get another book because she finished the one she was currently reading. Whichever came first. The man holding her down was sitting beside her, one hand holding her down gently, and the other gripped on his phone, obviously watching something funny, as he was quietly giggling.Another person only wearing grey. The others were all wearing black. He was tall, and had an accomplished grin on his face. Sam dearly wanted to wipe it off him. It was haunting."Hello, Sam Temple. What a great surprise." He sneered with a low voice."How do you know me, and my name?" Sam asked, sneaking secret glances toward the gun at his head."Oh Mr. Temple, ,I know more than you even know yourself."A shiver ran down Sam's spine.Sam felt a sharp pain running through his right arm like hot lava.He screamed in pain. His eyes closed shut without his command. Everything was spinning, and before he lost his consciousness, he asked himself one question; why can't anybody hear them? Then he fell into a deep slumber.........
