The first training assessment on the list was to test out their skills in a series of activities. Y/N was feeling pretty confident, aside from the fact that Aizawa-Sensei said who ever was at the bottom would be expelled. She would of guessed he were bluffing, but then that certainty shriveled up and die.
Y/N stretched out her limbs, listening to her joints pop, exercising her fingers. She was up first, racing against a girl with pink skin and pink hair. She was ready to win. Y/N used her hands to touch the bottom of her boots, creating boosters out of dark matter. She could create almost everything imaginable with dark matter, the possibilities were endless.
"On your marks . . ." A machine spoke monotonously. "Get set . . ." She formed her stance. "Go!" Y/N glided across the track, sliding her feet back and forth as if she was snow boarding. The girl followed behind her until Y/N finished the track.
"5.01 seconds." The machine beeped. Holding her hands on her hips, she smiled proudly.
One down, seven more to go. Y/N walked back towards Izuku and smiled. "How'd I do?" She asked her best friend.
"You were amazing. I knew you were going to beat her." He encouraged her. She couldn't ask for a better friend.
As time went past, Y/N had flew right past the tests, almost beating her opponents. There were a few times when she lost her focus. Still, she was probably one of the best students in this class. Next was the ball throw. Y/N wasn't very good at throwing things, so she would have to shoot dark matter out of her palm to blast the ball. The first person up was Katsuki. He turned to her and smirked proudly, before stepping onto the base.
She crossed her arms tightly against her chest, lips drawn in a grimace. She could remember a time when she'd actually had a crush on him. Katsuki Bakugou of all people. It was back in seventh grade. She wasn't sure why her heart had been dead set on him. Even when he'd tease her and continued to call her Deku's girlfriend. She could remember when her heart had raced every time he talked to her.
And then she'd decided to stop hiding her feelings. It was the worst mistake of her life. She'd poured her heart and soul out to him, telling him how much she admired him. She told him that she thought he was attractive. But then he'd laughed in her face.
You're pathetic, L/N, to actually think I would have liked you. This is too good, maybe I should of recorded you. What an embarrassment. She remembered crying and Izuku trying to cheer her up.
So she swore to herself that she would never trust boys ever again. It was better to focus on her goals than try and win people's hearts. It was just better that way.
Y/N watched Bakugou as he chucked the ball, using his explosion quirk to shoot the ball even farther. 705 meters, that was a lot. After he was finished, he sauntered over towards her, leaning in and whispering in her ear. Your turn, L/N.
Y/N walked up to the plate, grabbing the ball and tossing it back and forth in her hands. Taking a deep breath, she turned her body and chucked the ball, using her dark matter to blast it. The ball flew fast until it blinked away in the sky.
"699.09 meters." Y/N pumped a fist up in the air. That went better than she expected it to.
"Way to go, L/N!" Uraraka cheered. Y/N smiled in content before going to stand by the others. She was so close to beating Katsuki. So close.
When Izuku was up at the plate, Y/N gave him a thumbs up in encouragement. He gave her a timid smile before being handed the ball. He seemed nervous. He then threw the ball while giving it his all.
