The Lifesaver or The Heartbreaker?

Chapter 7

History is so boring. Seriously, since the class has started, I could not think of anything else, but when is this torture going to end. Melanie was taking notes by my side and she was concentrating so much that I knew I didn't stand chance in talking right now. She LOVED History, it was her favorite subject. This girl is weird. We made a deal, for the exam, she was giving me her notes to study, while I helped her with Maths and I was okay with that. Finally, the bell rang and I jumped in my seat and rushed to back away. Melanie gave me a death glare, but I didn't care. It was lunch time and I hadn't noticed how hungry I was. However, Melanie wasn't in a rush, after she finished writing, she stood up and started packing her stuff away very slowly. It was my turn to give her a death glare.

“Seriously? Are you doing this on purpose? If you will not get your ass ready in one minute, I will eat you alive right here.” I said to her trying to maintain a serious expression on my face. Of course I failed miserably after I saw her laughing.

We laughed so loudly while heading to the dinning room in order to meet up with Anna. Everyone was giving us strange looks, but we didn't care at all. Then, my eyes found his blue as the ocean and a knot formed in my stomach. I am still very confused about my feeling for him. First, he acts like a total jerk and makes me want to rip his head off, but then, he is so nice that it made my heart flutter. After the park incident, I am more confused than ever. It seemed like he really liked me? It is not possible, is it? Of course no, Alexis, why would you think so? Only because he saved you that night, does not mean that he is in love with you. I mentally groaned at myself and pushed those thoughts to the back of my head. I smiled at Luke and waved him with my hand. He did the same, smiling not with his typical smirk, but with his amazing smile that made warm inside. Can I be possibly falling for him?

Finally, we reached our destination and I saw Anna looking at me with open wide eyes. When we reached her I gave her a questioning look, but she didn't react.

“Do I look like a ghost or is something wrong with my face?” I asked her, laughing slightly, but she just shook her head coming back from her thoughts. “Okay, are you going to tell me because it is seriously freaking me out. Just spill it out, woman!”

“What the hell is going on between you and Luke? I saw you smiling at him and then you waved and he did the same.” Now I felt my best friends' eyes burning holes through me. “Did you guys sle...” It took me less than a second to understand what she was talking about.

“Wow wow wow, slow down woman! I didn't know you were so dirty.” I interrupted her before she could finish that awful theory. That is gross! “I appreciate that you think so highly of me.” I said to her with sarcasm and Anna looked down guiltily. “And no, we didn't do anything that type anytime soon.” Then I laughed, Anna quickly looked up at me smiling too. “Leave it to Anna to come up with the best theory ever.” The both of them joined, laughing with me.

“So, what was that about any way?” Melanie asked me with eyes full of curiosity and excitement. I still has not told them about the incident and that it was about time that I filled them in.

“It is a long story. I will tell you everything at the table. I am so hungry.” I said to them while heading to grab some food. They just nodded in agreement and followed me.
