People of all ages were rushing down the streets of the busy castle town, all wearing anything from neutral to bright-coloured clothing as they walked to the town square. Dogs would bark in the distance as children stood beside their parents, tugging at their clothes while constantly asking them what was going on and why they couldn't go play with their friends. The children didn't want to be there at all, as well as some adults, as they were forced to leave their jobs for this randomly called forth event. The aroma from all different kinds of food filled the air, it could make almost anyone drool. Banners hung off of buildings representing the kingdom or businesses there, swaying with the faux wind of the moving crowds. In the middle of the town square, the king and prince of this town would stand. The prince stood there looking out to the distance. The king's advisor would stand in front of the king in the middle of the town square and clear his throat. Unrolling the scroll the advisor had been carrying around he looked at all the people.

"Hear ye, hear ye! Today, the king and prince have arrived to pick new servants for the castle! Most of you will be randomly selected for this task, so be prepared to take immediate membership in our court." The advisor informed the townsfolk before looking through his papers.

Knights would stand behind the two royals and advisor making sure they were safe while some knights dragged in some stragglers. One of the stragglers went by the name of (Your name). (Your name) was a farmer, a mere peasant. She struggled as two knights grabbed her arms, her (colour of hair) hair that was originally tied up fell in front of her face, it was even messier. "Hey! What do you think you're doing!" She shouted, her clothes were foul and unhygienic. (Your name) face had mud on it from her recently doing farm work.

"I think the prince will like this one." The knight holding (Your name)'s right arm said.

The other knight nodded in agreement, "She's feisty but pretty."

After being dragged I was brought in the middle of the town square. I was filthy when I came to the town square. I normally look nice when I come here! I looked around and noticed everyone was staring at me and whispering. I grew even more self-conscious and rubbed the mud off my face. But then I noticed them, the king and the prince. I could feel my legs growing weak. I quickly got on my knees in front of the two and bowed. I glanced up and noticed the prince smiling at me, it was a smug smile though. The king kept a straight face. The king seemed unimpressed with me.

"Sire! We found this peasant working in the fields with the livestock. We think she would do well at the castle!" The knight that was originally holding my right arm said. The king cleared his throat, I was nervous.

"Stand up peasant!" The king's voice boomed. I nodded and quickly stood up, brushing myself off even though it didn't matter. I stared at the ground not wanting to make eye contact with the king. I heard whispering, presumably between the king and prince. "You, peasant, are going to be working for the castle from now on." The king announced to me and almost everyone else. I looked around with wide eyes, some of the people were just as shocked as I was.

"How did she even manage to get picked. Look at her!" I heard some girl mutter behind me and others whispered about how much work servants go through at that castle. In all honesty, I was scared as hell.

"Get in that carriage over there, one of the knights will escort you there. Once we pick the other servants we'll go to the castle, your new home." The advisor told me as he pointed to the carriage I'd ride in. It wasn't as luxurious like the king's carriage, but it was still nice. I just nod at what he told me before walking to the carriage, a knight escorted me as the advisor said. The knight opened the door to the carriage for me, I got in and took my spot. This day would change my whole life.
