"Get in." He said, I was in no position no say no, people began to appear from out of nowhere. So of course I got in, shaking and my teeth chattering. I wasn't scared, was I?
Minutes later we were on the main road rain running down the windscreen as if they were running away from each other. His voice sounded familiar, he kept his eyes on the road, hood up. "So..." I trailed off. Nothing. My phone started ringing, my finger hovered about the icon to answer, he looked over so I declined it. Five minutes later it went off again 'mom'. " who's that" he spoke softly. I said nothing. I knew his voice but where from?
I didn't know this part of town, it was deserted eerie and it had a cold feeling, I didn't understand. I remember growing up on 12th street before the burnout. I grew up there with my nan and my mum and my 6 siblings I was one of the middle children so I was loved and hated by nan and mum. We lived right opposite my ex crush we moved in just after my first week at rock high.
He stopped outside my old house. "Get out" he said. I was in no position to argue, so I did what I was told. The street still had the same homeleness, my old house. It looked strangely out of place, it looked like it has just been built. Strangely the other house had been left to rot and crumble. As I walked around to my old house I saw Toby. He looked scared and tired as if he had just seen a ghost. "Toby?" I asked, surprised to see him, but he didn't look at me. He must remember when I humiliated him at my party. He got up and hugged me, he held on as I was going to fall apart.
"Why." He paused. "Are you here?" I shook my head unsure of what to say, so I walked to my old house and he followed me all sheepish and nervous. The garden was still a mess, all my old toys damaged from the burnout.
