"You've forgotten your car keys darling!" a warming voice calls downstairs. Amber rushes around the kitchen frantically cursing under her breathe. She pushes the leaflets off the table in distress and then turns her head towards the stairs. She was late for work.
"Where are my keys again mum?" Amber shouts from the bottom of the stairs , She is dressed in work attire , a button up shirt and skirt. There is a long pause and some shuffling upstairs before Amber's mum pokes her head down.
"Same place love , in your favorite mug" She says warmly before running back upstairs to what she was doing beforehand. Amber quickly rushes into the kitchen and grabs the first mug off the mug stand. Its a plain white mug reading 'SHU DHU FUH CUP'. She chuckles to herself before pouring the car keys into her hand with relief.
"Did you find them ?" Amber's mother shouts down. "I found them on the kitchen side yesterday night so i placed them in the mug in case"
"Yes , yes i did..as much as i would like to stay i am running late ...love you mum!"
Amber unlocked the door quickly and rushed outside to her car. She unlocked her car before getting in and shoving her bags on the side seat. Starting her car she checked the time on the clock in the car.
"Shit" She cursed real loud after starting her car. The clock read 7.45 am. She had 15 minutes to drive to work that approximately took 25 minutes on her usual daily trip.
"Looks like i may or may not be pulled over today" Amber sarcastically joked to herself though this was a just a from of comforting. She knew her application for a raise would falter if she turned up late especially today with a meeting with her boss. It seemed that no one ever saw the boss of the company and in Amber's 2 years with them she could ultimately agree that she too never saw a glimpse of her boss.
Amber always wondered whether or not her boss would be the type on movies that absolutely made the mood in the room a miserable despair or the type that would be stuck up in every way. It seemed rumors had often spread around the office in her time there, one of them being that the boss never left the office and i mean it made sense seeming that Amber had never seen them once. She turned her attention to the Offices Christmas party in a few days time , perhaps then she could apologize for being late when everyone was under the influence of alcohol ?. Perhaps the boss would end up coming to this office party since they missed every other party over the years? though that was very doubtful. Every party was not an excuse to procrastinate and leave the office room.
In her time of thinking , Amber reached the car park of the office and sighed after realizing the time. It read 8.05 am. It could of been worst. She rolled her eyes in the thought of getting a speeding ticket though that worry had to wait until she left work and had time to process everything. Amber drove her car into the car park and waited for a car to pull out so she could park and finally get into work. As the car was pulling out and going to the exit , she prepared to drive her car to the spot but unexpectedly felt a bump in the side of her car. Amber halted her car as far as she could and took a concerned look in her wing mirror , it seemed a Mercedes Benz had forced its way by her with darkened windows and was heading for the parking space.
Amber lowered her windows and poked her head out. She waited for the driver to step out of the car. "HEY ...HEY YOU DUMB B****" She regretfully shouted out loud. The driver eventually stepped out revealing a brunette woman dressed in a suit. Amber guessed she probably worked for the boss in another section of the company. Maybe i could use this as leverage to get more money she thought but quickly dismissed the thought.
The women dismissed Amber and started to stroll past with her briefcase. Amber enraged at her ignorance drove her car further into the now taken car space and poked her head further out of her window. " OI ....You ...woman with the briefcase" She implied. The brunette Woman turned around and noticed Amber's enraged expression.
