Lancer's mother was savagely taken from him at the battle of Marcers Perch, the very battle that saved his people from the dreaded Nabo. The Nabo tested the defences of the kingdom every few years to see if the king's forces were in a state of readiness Finally King Alta decided to set a trap for the cursed Nabo. His spies, through their own devious means, discovered exactly where and when the Nabo planned to test his defenses once again. This time King Alta and his entire army were lying in wait. The trap was set, and the War of Sorrows had begun.
This kingdom was ruled by four kings, from card castle to the east until a strange knight appeared out of the blue and caused three of the four kings to be locked away. As they were locked away, only for chaos to reign on this kingdom and caused mass hysteria for the people of the kingdom. The lighteners abandoned the darkeners and never returned to guide them to thrive and survive. The king has taken up arms to seek revenge to those filthy lighteners to which they've wrongfully abandoned them. The guards still look for hope that the lighteners return.
On a cold spring day in the card castle garden, the duke walked with Lancer in silence until Lancer broke the silence. "When will dad be able to spend time with me...?"
"Thou shall wait and see, littlest one..." Rouxls had said to Lancer as he had been in thought for some time, "plus, why would thou asketh thy such an interesting question?"
"He seems fixated on things other than me..." Lancer said as his soft gaze became more desperate for his dad's love he was so destined to crave, "I'm starting to think that he doesn't love me anymore...!"
"Oh, young sire," Rouxls said in a calm and comforting way as he held the young prince, "Amst sure that this whole thing is gonst bloweth over," he picks up Lancer's chin to make sure he's looking at him as a way of comfort, "I amst positive!"
"Rouxls..." Lancer whimpered as he started to tear up, hugging him as tight as he could, "I miss mom!" Rouxls listened to Lancer rant and vent as he felt ashamed that he couldn't protect Lancer's mom and the people's queen on time.
As the war grows longer and more tiresome, Lancer gets tucked in by Rouxls as he wipes his own tears away. "Rouxls," Lancer said, "Will mom ever return...?"
"Amst here for you, sweet Lancer," Rouxls exclaimed as he held him once again, "She shall cometh back again... thou shall wait and see, little one...!" Lancer nods, dozes off and starts to yawn as Rouxls starts to lull him to sleep. Rouxls then kissed the sleeping Lancer on the head and left his room.
Rouxls walked aimlessly through the empty halls of the card castle and at the same time tried looking for King Benard to have some words with him. "Rouxls," exclaimed the king in a deep baritone voice, "A word?" Rouxls turned around and gave a nod and uttered a gentle yes as a response.
They went to the king's room as Rouxls took a feather, ink and paper to write important words down as a way to send a letter to the opposing enemies. "I want you to write this down... no details missing," said King Benard as he growled lowly, "I want you to write that if the Nabos won't return with my wife within the following week, the war shall get bloodier from the night of the seventh day! UNDERSTAND?!"
"Yes, sire," responded Rouxls in a gentle voice, "but please, keepeth it down for the littlest Lancer, please."
"I'm sorry..." said the king as he refrained himself with the fires of fury still raging in his heart, "I've been enraged as of lately as you can tell...!"
