Her father had angered her again as usual. Her father had reminded her again that she wasn't his daughter because of a mistake she made through his actions according to her line of thoughts.

So she ran out into the woods. The scorching sun tanned her already brown skin and dried the moisture out of her dark and coily mass of hair.

She knew where she was going. It was the only place that gave her peace, the only place that accepted her for who she was in this ancient world. There were tears in her ember eyes.

I wish my mother was here. She wouldn't have let me go through all this but unfortunately, I don't even know who my mother was. How pathetic.

She finally made it to shore. People never really went to this part of the shore. The villagers claimed unexplainable phenomenom took place there from time to time. Although, all her time here, she had never seen or heard anything to confirm their claim.

She walked over to the front of the ocean and watched the waves and tides dance over each other. There was something different about it today. Usually it was calmer.

She stayed still watching them dance until they started becoming violent. It was no longer a dance but war. A sensible part of her told her to run but you know that curious side, it wanted to get to the bottom of it. So she stood rooted to the wet sand.

Soon enough, the water started to boil and there was a very bright and colorful light beneath the ocean, threatening to surface. Before long, the light won over and shot out into the sky.

At first, she thought is was just light until she looked closer and realized it was fire. The flames burned violently against one another. She could catch glimpses of blue, red, green and even yellow flames.

Just when she thought she had had enough, she looked to the center of the whole phenomenom and saw a woman.

Her arms were outstreched on both sides. Her strange long locs floated above her head. Her dread locs were white in color. Her melanin skin glowed beautifully and she seemed to be dressed like someone ready to fight if provoked. She was dressed in a mixture of both ring mail and steel plate body armour. She must have been in some kind of fight because most part of her armour was missing.

The worst part was that she wasn't even burning, it was like she wasn't affected at all by the fire which she was floating in.

As mind capturing as the whole event was, it had to come to an end. Eventually, it did. The fire died down and the fighting waves subsided. Then the floating woman fell into the ocean. She was drowning.

Without thinking, the young lady jumped into the dancing waves, swam to the drowning woman and helped her out of the clutches of the ocean.

She pulled her away from the wet sand and put her on the dry hot sand. Hopefully, the heat will help her regain her consciousness. She was about to tap her when the mysterious woman's eyes flew open. Without warning, her hands shot up and grabbed the young lady's neck. The young lady started choking.

"I-I I'm....I'm n-not...Y-y-your enemy", she managed to say. The mysterious woman stared at her with eyes identical to the young lady's. Her thick dark brows furrowed slightly, as if contemplating whether to believe the young lady or not. Eventually, she let her go.

The young lady coughed even more while trying to regain her breath. When she did, she began.

"I'm Kelarie by the way and that's a nice way to say 'thank you for saving my life' ", sacarsm obvious in her voice.

"Saving my life from what?" The mystery woman inquired with authority lacing her voice.

Kelarie stared in disbelief. This woman means to say she don't remember me risking my life for her in the middle of the ocean like that?

"Are you really asking me that? Who are you anyway? You just appeared from the water in the middle of flames and you didn't even burn! Where did you come from? Are you some kind of sorceress or witch?" Kelarie flooded her with questions.

"Who am I?" She asked herself rather than answer Kelarie's questions.

"Who am I?" She asked herself again confusion totally taking over.
Why don't I seem to remember who I am?

"Okay.... Can you at least tell me your name?" Kelarie requested.

"My name?.... A.... A..... A..." She said confused. I can't even remember my own name? What comes after A? What's my name?

"Your name is Hay?" Kelarie asked her.
"I don't remember my name. All I can remember is that it starts with an A."

"Well I'll call you Hay until you figure out what is wrong with you."

Hay just stared at her, then nodded in acceptance.
"Where am I anyway?"

"You're in Adrianne. Let's go see my annoying father."
