After getting lost in the woods at 5 years old, Ruby is saved from a pack of Beowulfs by a strange creature she had never seen before. Now 10 years later she reunites with the creature, naming it Toothless.

Ruby (5 yrs old) POV
I was exploring the forest around my house, I didn't realize how far I went until I turned around and realized I was lost.
Ruby: Dad? Yang?
I walked around the forest calling my family's names. I wasn't looking where I was going and I had fallen off a cliff it was small so I wasn't really hurt. I looked around a saw a small pond, a tree with something black hanging on it, and the cliff I fell down. Then I heard the growling of Beowulfs. There were three, I was really scared, they wanted to eat me!
Ruby: No! Leave me alone! Someone help me!
And as if Ohm himself was listening to my pleas of fear, I was saved! Though It wasn't a person, instead it was a creature as black as the night, it had big wings, a long tail, and from what I could tell was scaly. It growled and hissed at the Beowulfs and they growled back, the creature then attacked the Beowulfs, scratching and biting them. I sat there and watched them fight, at the end of the battle the Beowulfs were dead and the creature was victorious. I smiled and let out a quick laugh, the creature quickly turned to face me when I did that and started approaching me and I was scared again.
Ruby: Please don't hurt me!
I was prepared to die, but what I wasn't prepared for was the creature sniffing me. Its breath was hot and almost smokey then it nudged my arm. I was confused I looked at it and tilted my head and copied me tilting its head, I tilted my head to the other side and it followed my movements. I extended my arm and it looked at it for a moment before placing its snout in my palm.
Ruby: You're not so scary.
I smiled at it. The creature then sat up and looked at me then it tried to smile.

Yang: Ruby where are you?!
My attention was broken from the creature as my sister was calling my name.
Ruby: I'm over here!
I looked back toward the creature but it was gone.
Ruby: Where did you go?
Dad: Ruby! are you ok?
Ruby: I'm ok!
My dad jumped down and picked me up in a hug.
Dad: I'm so glad you're ok.
Ruby: I'm fine, the black creature saved me!
Yang: Black creature?
Ruby: Yeah! It was big and scaly and had wings, it saved me from a pack of Beowulfs!
Dad: Well I'm just glad you're not hurt. How about we go home? I'll make you cookies!
