I wake up to see myself curled up next to Daniel. I smile to myself and wiggle out from his arms. I decide to go home and do what I have to do today. I kiss him on the forehead and head out. I drive home and as soon as I get inside I plop on the couch. I look at my phone and check the time. It's only noon but I gotta get ready for all my try outs today. I take my shower and do everything I need to do. I change into black ripped jeans all the way down the legs, a black tight spaghetti strap tank top with a dark blue and black flannel. I then slip on my black Timberlands. I look at myself in the mirror satisfied with how I look. I keep my hair down and curly. I look at the time and it's 1:30pm. I decide to go get something to eat since I have time. I grab my keys and head to somewhere for a breakfast or lunch. I pull up to a different diner than the one from yesterday. I walk in and take my seat. I order and start eating. Someone walks up to my table so I look up. "Hello Kayla" the man says with an evil smile. It's Tyler. Shit I knew he was moving here but I didn't know i would ever see him. "Get away from me" I say sternly. He just chuckles and sits across from me. "What do you want" I say still trying to sound intimidating. "Why do you always assume I want something. Can't I just hang out with the hottest girl in town" he says placing his hand on my thigh under the table. I freeze for a second not knowing what to do or say. "I love it when you freeze up and don't know what to do" he says with a sinister smile. I need to get out of here. But what if he follows me? What if he knows where I live? I go to slowly move out of the booth but his hand grips tighter on my leg beginning to hurt. "Where do you think your going?" He says. I freeze again but just for a second before I bolt out of the diner and to my car. I struggle with my keys trying to find it and by the time I get the key in the door I'm being pressed against my car. "You can't just run away again. Not anymore" he says holding me neck. "Hey! Who the hell are you?!" I hear a familiar voice yell. I look and see Daniel and the rest of the guys. Tyler slowly loosens his grip on my neck. "That doesn't matter who I am. Who are you?" He says standing his grounds. "I'm her boyfriend now who the fuck are you" Daniel says obviously not happy. "Boyfriend huh? Well maybe you should get lost and find a new one" Tyler says getting in Daniels face. "Or what" is all Daniel says before the two break out fighting. I run over and help the other boys try to pry them off of each other. We eventually get Daniel off of him and head to our cars. Daniel said he will ride with me. Right before I got in I hear "this isn't over Miller". I get in my car and drive to my apartment. We get inside and Daniel engulfs me in a hug. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" He starts asking a bunch of questions. "I'm fine. He's just someone I had an issue with back in New York" I say looking down. "Wanna tell me about it?" Daniel says. "Well when I had my going away party I was having fun and Tyler came up to me and told me take a drink. But I told him I didn't drink then he got mean and dragged me up the stairs and shoved me in a room. He tried to... you know. Then I started fighting to get him off of me then when he started hitting me I hit him over the head with a vase and I forgot he said he was moving to LA. I didn't think it would be this soon though" I finish. He just reaches over and grabs my hand. "It will be okay I'm here for you now and I'm not gonna let anything happen to you" he says softly. I sigh as he puts the car in drive and starts to leave the diner. "Where do you gotta go?" He asks. "Oh shit I gotta get to the college I might be late" I say in a panic. "Alright we'll get there on time I promise" he glances to me with a warming smile. We arrive at the school and I look at the time. Awesome we are on time. He walks me in and says he'll be waiting in the lobby for me. I walk into the room where I'll be doing my audition. As soon as I walk in I'm greeted by the same lady from the other day. "Hello Kayla! So did you pick a song to sing?" She asks with a calm smile that kinda made me feel less nervous. "Yes I did" I say. "Alright well step over here and you may start" she says leading me to a small stage. I step up and stand there for a second remembering what song I chose. "So for my audition I'll be singing Elastic Heart by Madilyn Bailey" I said. The music starts playing and I start singing. I sang my whole heart out and while I was singing I can feel myself start to think back in my past. I think of how this song relates to my past. Looking back on that and singing this song made me feel like I was just singing my story. The fact that it made me a little sad about the past made me sing it even better. Just like the song says, you won't see me fall apart. And that's what I live by. I finish singing and the headmaster looks at me with this look of sadness. "I absolutely love it. I love how when you sing you can feel the emotion. I can feel your passion and I love it. Unfortunately I can not make this decision myself I have to discuss with other administrators but I think you did amazing. I will email you within the week to tell you if you shake attend our school" she finishes. I felt myself smile so big. "Thank you so much ma'am and I never did catch your name" I said. "I am Mrs. Kale" she says. "Well thank you Mrs. Kale" I say. She smiles as I walk myself out of the building. i checked the time when i walked out. It's only 3pm so i still have 3 hours to do whatever i want before i have to come back here for softball try outs. My phone buzzes in my pocket. i check it and its an email from the Southern California University. Already? I read the email that begins with a big congratulations across the top. I got in! i walk over to the parking lot where my car and Daniel was. I get in the passenger seat and pretend to be upset. "So? What happen?" he says looking at me. "I didn't get in" i say with a sad tone. He looks at me with a sad look so i look up at him and smile. "What?" he says still upset. "I'm kidding!" i say laughing."That is not funny" he says laughing with me. "So where to?" he asks. "Hmm. Can we go hang out at a park?" i ask. "Of course" he looks at me and smiles he gives my a kiss before he starts the car and drives off to a park. A few minutes later we pull up to a park with not many people roaming around. We walk over and sit on a bench. We sit there for a while talking about stuff when we were kids. "I'm gonna go to the restroom real quick" he says starting to stand up. "Okay i'll wait right here" i say. he kisses me then walks off to a bathroom im guessing is all the way across the park. I go on my phone for a while then I looked up and looked around. Where is Daniel? He's been gone for like 10-20 min. i decide to get up and look for him. I walk in the direction he went. After a couple min of walking i find the bathroom. I walk around to the back of the small building and i see exactly the opposite of what i wanted to see. It was Daniel, but not by himself. I see Daniel and that same girl he was with at the diner making out. "So this is what is taking you so long?" i say starting to get really upset. He quickly looks up at me. "Babe... it's not what it looks like i promise" he says starting to walk over to me. I slowly back up away from him. "Stay the hell away from me and i mean it this time. We're done" i say turning and running to my car. he can find his own way home.
