Chapter 1

My name is Lupe. I'm not your average typical werewolf. I can't be killed by a silver bullet and it's rare to see me in my wolf form even on a full moon. I've never actually seen it. My mother says being in your word form gives you bad luck. I don't even know how to change. I'm curious though. Obviously I'm not going to do it, I'm just curious. Maybe one day if I'm feeling a little adventurous. Haha.
Anyways, we age like real people, talk like people, everything is the same. Well... some things are different. We eat mostly meat with an occasional vegetable. No fruits. We don't particularly like them much. Too sweet in my book. We have perfect teeth and our smiles are to die for. That's one of our known traits.
In my family it's myself, my little brother, Jordan, my mom, my dad, and my grandfather. I'm surprised my grandfather is still alive. He survived a really bad fight with another werewolf when he was younger, way before I was born. We are more on the safe side unlike other werewolves.
We get killed by hunters who want us as trophies. I think hunters are dumb. Why can't everyone just live in piece? My family doesn't think there are any hunters nearby though because there would be so much werewolf talk about them going on. There are only a couple other werewolf families around this area. We are all spread out around 15 miles apart at least. My best friend Damon is a werewolf from one of the other families. We grew up together. Our families have always been close.
I go to school like any other natural kid would. I'm a junior in high school. Today is the first day of the second semester.
Damon comes up to me in excitement. "Omg! I think Stacie looked at me 5 minutes ago!" I smiled and rolled my eyes. "Probably to make fun of the fact that you were probably staring at her" I chuckle. Damon and I always joke around about Stacie because he has the biggest crush on her. Literally since middle school when she moved here and was claimed the most popular girl. Stacie has a boyfriend though so Damon has absolutely no chance.
We gossiped and then went our separate ways for class. I had gym first semester and now I have art. I went to sit down in a seat. I seen Stacie's boyfriend come in and he sat right next to me. He said "you're in my seat." I started to stand up and apologize and he said "No it's okay, I can just sit right here." It felt weird because he has never talked to me before and I know Stacie would be upset at him for just saying hello to a girl. I don't even know his name because she never lets him talk to anyone else. I just see him in the hallway with Stacie.
Nobody sits next to us and it's kind of awkward so I make conversation. "There's like nobody in here" I said. He says "That's how it was last semester too. Nobody really likes art anymore." He smiles and gets some colored pencils. I decide to use some of them as well. I say "I see you around school a lot but I don't know your name. "Arty" he says while concentrating. "Aren't you dating Stacie?" I smile at him as he nods his head.
Class goes by fast as does the rest of the day. I walk home without seeing Damon. I'll just call him tonight anyways. I was excited to get home because tonight was family night and those are pretty fun.
