The second time Allison woke from her deep and long sleep, she was more of with her wits than the first time. And it was three days after she panicked from not knowing anything. Now, she controlled the panic arising from seeing unfamiliar things around her though she started to get that everything now was unfamiliar. Even herself was a stranger to her.

“You want something else?”, she looked at the man who was taking care of her since she didn’t know when. She wanted to ask everything. She watched him pour a glass of juice. The sound of waves was peaceful on that morning but she knew there was a turmoil of thoughts swimming on her mind.

“Who are you?”, she asked. She saw the way the man stopped for a second but quickly recovered from it. It made it looked like she did not caught him off guard but she was sure she did. Their eyes met. There was something in his eyes she couldn’t spell out. They appeared serious that she swallowed hard.

“Let’s eat first please. You have to eat”

“But I want to know”, her eyes dropped to her hands folded on her lap. She heard him sigh.

“I will tell you everything but we have to be careful and we have to take everything slow. I don’t want to strain and stress you. It’s not good”, his hand covered hers and the other one touched her head softly.

So far, all she knew was her name. Allison. That was the only thing he answered yet.

She frowned but nodded. Somehow, she could tell he’s sincere and all she could trust was his instinct. They started eating. Allison would steal glances to him when she had chances and thankfully, he wouldn’t return them. She would be embarrassed if she would be caught staring and gawking at him. With his sight of simple shirt and cotton grey shorts, he looked very good. He was attractive. And good-looking seemed to be an understatement to describe him. He has a good built of his body which made her wonder if he workout every day.

Their breakfast ended with that routine.

They both decided to take a walk at the shore since there were few people doing it. The morning breeze felt cool against her skin.

“Are you cold?”, Kurt asked. That was the second thing she learned from him. His name.

“No. I’m okay”, she was having fun seeing her feet on the sand. Though Kurt was slightly against her not wearing her slippers or anything on her feet, she convinced him. The sand and the wind felt nice on her. And she was also aware of some girls looking at him.

“Come on, let’s sit here”, Kurt lightly held her hand and led her to the number of seats by the shore. They seated where no one occupied any of the chairs yet. There were umbrellas protecting them from the harsh sunlight. She gasped when Kurt suddenly kneeled down at her feet when she sat and wiped off the sand sticking on her feet with his own hands.

“You don’t have to do that”, she said when he finished doing it.

His forehead creased. “Why not? You should not let…”, he stopped when he noticed Allison’s eyes on him.

“Who are you?”,her voice was soft and innocent.

Kurt’s POV

“Who are you?”, Allison asked me. Even when she was still on coma, I knew what I was going to answer when she ask. I practiced saying this on my mind over and over again that it seemed to be the most natural and normal way to answer this question.

I held my hand in front of her and showed her the gold band wrapped around my ring finger. She observed it carefully. And I knew she was trying to figure out what I was going to say.

“I’m your husband. We’re married”, without any trace of hesitation and lie, I revealed myself to her. Her eyes flew to mine striving to find something on them. But I wouldn’t let her see anything else but the truth of what I said.

“M-Married?”, she whispered.

“I know this is too shocking for you, dear. You don’t remember anything but it’s the truth”, I reached for her hand and I matched her soft voice with my soft smile as I held her hand on my own locating the matching pair of my ring on her fingers silently resting. I waited patiently for her reaction like how I’ve waited for her.

“I don’t remember anything”, she started to tear up and I quickly brushed them off with my thumb.

“It’s okay”, I assured her but she shook her head. She started crying and sobbing that it hurt to see her like that. I was about to hug her to make her at least feel better, when her hands flew to her head. A fang of fear and panic gnaw against me.

“Are you okay? Is your head hurting?”, I tried to stay calm. I’m a doctor for God’s sake. But I couldn’t help but feel terrified if anything bad happened to her.

“My head’s throbbing”, she cried in pain.

“Let’s go back. You need to rest”, without waiting for her to say anything anymore, I scooped her to my arms and walked carefully. I kissed her forehead and kept telling her to focus on my voice instead of paying more attention on her head. We were near the rest house when I saw a familiar man standing at the front door. Arms on his chest.

I was not surprise to see him here. Before we reached the door, Allison already lost her consciousness and didn’t have the chance to see the man. My steps did not falter and my eyes did not waver.

“Kurt”, the man’s voice almost sounded like he was cussing at me and gritting his teeth. He was sneering at me.

“Ben”, I said his name like it did not matter one bit. His attention turned to Allison and that was when I tightened my hold on her. He might snatch her from me and I couldn’t allow that.

“Since when is she awake?”, not answering his question, I unlock the door and went in. I heard his footsteps following us up to her room. I gentle settled her on the bed and cleared her face of the hair covered it.

“You’re really keeping her here?”, Ben’s voice irritated me because it might disturb Allison’s sleep. I paid one last caress on her cheek with the back of my hand before I threw a glare at Ben’s direction.

“Let’s talk but not here. She needs rest”, he glanced at her once again and breathed out soundly.

“Okay”

We went out of her room.

Now, what should I tell Allison’s brother?
