Ain't Nothin' Left *Daryl Dixon love story*

CDC Part Two

        Doctor Edwin Jenner had everyone give blood samples to be able to stay there and after a struggle with Alex, everyone sat around the table eating and drinking wine. Both Daryl and Avery sat on the other side of the room drinking and smoking by themselves. Jenner was explaining how everyone opted out after the military fell.

        ‘I don’t trust this guy Av…’Daryl looked over to her.

        ‘I don’t either but what’re we gonna do? Leave?’ She laughed quietly. ‘We ain’t about to just bail. We’re just gonna have to wait to see what happens.’

        ‘I guess.’ He sighed and took a drag off of his cigarette. Everyone soon finished their food and Jenner was showing them where they would be sleeping.

        ‘The couches are nice but there are cots in the storage if you’d like. Go easy on the electricity and the hot water.’ He finished and walked away leaving the group ecstatic about a shower.

        ‘AJ come here!’ Avery yelled for her brother. His name was Alex James, hence the nickname AJ.

        ‘What?’ He walked up to her with his bag over his shoulders.

        ‘Bunk with Glenn, I’m staying with Daryl.’ She informed him and walked away. ‘Dare I’m staying with you!’ She called as she walked into the room he went in.

        ‘Okay! I’m in the shower!’ He hollered back at her. Avery looked around the room slowly and sat her stuff down on the floor.

        ‘Hey sis, can I come in?’ Alex asked from the door way.

        ‘Yeah why wouldn’t you be able to?” She sat on the couch looking at her younger brother.

        ‘Where’s Daryl?’ He slowly walked in and stopped once he was inside the door way.

        ‘He’s in the shower, why?’ She chuckled at her brother’s body laugage.

        ‘Because he scares me…’ He walked in all the way and sat in front of his sister.

        ‘Good!’ Daryl screamed from the bathroom causing Alex to jump and Avery to start laughing. Daryl walked out of the bathroom with a wife beater and some loose jeans. Avery looked him up and down before looking towards he ground and blushed. ‘Ye can take yer shower now Aves.’ Daryl come over and sat down on the couch as Avery went into the bathroom to shower.

        ‘I’m gonna just go now.’ Alex mumbled and stood up. He shut the door behind him. Daryl shrugged his shoulders and waited for Avery to come back out of the bathroom.

        After five minutes Avery walked out of the bathroom with nothing but a towel covering her. Daryl ran his tongue across his bottom lip and looked her over.

        ‘Quit yer starin’ Dare.’ She teased and walked next to him to grab her clothes. Once she had what she wanted to wear she went back into the bathroom to get clothes on. Daryl shifted uncomfortably as he almost saw Avery naked. When she came back out of the bathroom she was fully dressed. She looked at Daryl and smirked when he shifted under her glaze. ‘Ye ready for bed?’ She asked him and he nodded and got off the couch. She put a hand on his chest to stop him. ‘Ye can have half of the couch, I’ll have the other. Yer not sleepin’ on the floor.’ He nodded and sat back down while Avery sat on the other end of the couch and laid down. Daryl put one leg on the couch and stretched it out behind her while keeping the other on the floor. They both fell asleep fairly quickly.

        The next morning Avery woke up with Daryl nowhere in sight. She couldn’t tell what time it was since they were underground but within five minutes of her trying to wake up Daryl ran in screaming.

        ‘Come on Av! We need to go!’ He ran up to her and grabbed her arm, dragging her with him.

        ‘What’s going on?!’ She screamed and tried to get her arm out of his grasps.

        ‘The building is about to blow up! That’s what!’ He let go of her arm and pushed her in front of him. They ran into the top part just as they blew the window out with a grenade. They ran out and killed the walkers that surrounded them and made it to their cars. Daryl threw their bags in the back of his truck and climbed in. Once both doors were shut he pushed Avery down to the floor and covered her body with his as the CDC behind them blew into pieces.

        ‘Daryl… Where’s Alex?’ She looked up at Daryl as she got off of the floor.

        ‘He’s in the RV. He’s fine.’ He assured her as they all drove away from the CDC.
