Monument Valley

The ceremony

"Head my words! It shall not be long untell our Sacred Geometry is taken from us. Soon a bird clothed in white shall save us from our greed, and free us from this world! We shall leave this valley and find a new home! prepare yourselves and your hearts so that greed shall not overtake thee! We shall soon be free!" The paster shouted these words as loud as he could as if his hearers where deaf. 

"For the love of a polygon, can't he just shut up about the bird for one day? I sware yesterday I could hear him from my tower, you know how far away my tower is." Celine said shaking her head. this got a chuckle out of Ida who was walking beside her. 

"hey Ida, do you believe all of the preachers mumbo jumbo about the bird and stuff?"

Ida nodded her head yes.

"Realy? I can't see why anyone would listen to him." Ida looked around to see how she could explain, finally she got it, she ran over to a wall and started moving her finger as if she was drawing. It was the only way she could think to explain to her best friend, Ida was mute after all.

"A drawing? no no...A carving on the wall?" Ida confirmed this statement. "so you saw a carving of the bird?" Ida nodded her head. "strange" 

"Ida? where are you?!" A voice called out.

"she's overhear!" Celine responded. Out emerged the queen wearing her strange hat rounded out near the head yet ending with a diamond-shaped point. 

"Ida, there you are, I've been looking for you everywhere." the queen said in her elegant tone.

"Sorry, we just got distracted. Oh, I wanted to ask, can I come with Ida to the ceremony?!"

"yes yes, now if I may I wish to take my daughter back home, we shall meet you there."

"ok, thanks! Bye-bye Ida!" Ida waved goodbye as her friend ran off. 

"now princess, come along we have much to prepare."

The castle was beautiful, made a purple stone and surrounded by intricate staircases and a mote. people filled every nook and cranny of the outer court that they could find. Ida and Celine sat right next to the centerpiece. The queen should up to give her speech.

"people of the valley, I thank you for joining us tonight. We are gathered hear to add to the glories that make us complete. Yes, I speak of our Sacred Geometry, The very thing that gives us purpose, life, and existence. We have decided that the next piece of sacred geometry shall go hear at our very plaice, as to assure it's safety for future generations!" applause erupted in the crowd. "I have already collected the necessary wisp in order to accomplish this, now behold the future of our world." 

She removed her cap and a small wisp-like thing emerged. on her command, it split to become 6 wisps. she moved her hands in the air commanding them to aline and connect. In the end, it formed to look like a diamond with 6 points all connected together. It descended and started to admit it's life-giving aura. 

Ida stared at it in wonder, and confusion, something seemed wrong about it. she had never traversed the monuments and so hadn't seen one of the pieces up close, but now. she looked into the crowd and there faces, some had awe and wonder and others brore greed and jealousy. what shocked her the most was her dear friend Celine's face, an expression she had seen only once before. 

Celine wanted it for herself. 

(Sup! ok, so I had to nickname some of the things because they aren't named in the game. This was so much fun to do. I have plans for the rest of the story and how it ties into the main game. I'm sorry for any typos, and I hope you liked this!)
