Weeks have past but up until now, Chanyeol doesn't call or text me. None of my notifications come from him. I've been waiting for him to at least reach me out because the last time I get to talk with him was when he's in New York. But, now? I don't know where he is. I don't want to be an annoying girlfriend. I think at this rate, I might be one.
It is Sunday when I decide to dial his number, over and over, until he finally picks up the call. Rings after rings, I lose hope. I keep walking back and forward around the living room with my phone close to my ear. I'm waiting patiently to hear his voice after so long but he doesn't answer any of my calls. Baekhyun, who is currently sitting on the sofa, watching me as he was hoping for Chanyeol to pick it up too. Baekhyun has been with me since breakfast and he keeps on saying to me that 'Don't give up. Maybe, he's busy or he silent his phone? Who knows, huh?'
Baekhyun keeps giving me supports and positive words. All I want is Chanyeol's attention but instead, Baekhyun is the one giving his to me. Despite the fact that he is just my private bodyguard, I can feel the closeness between him.
He is not just my bodyguard, but he's a friend to me.
A friend that I love to have fun with. A friend that willing to put me safe whenever I go. A friend that always comfort me when I'm in sorrow. That friend is Baekhyun.
"Hey, sit first and calm down, okay?" Baekhyun invites me to sit beside him.
"But Baekhyun, why hasn't he picks up my calls? It's have been hours!" I sigh in frustration, covering my face with my palm. I don't want to burst out in front of him. Baekhyun pats the seat beside him gently, calling me to sit beside him.
I slowly walk to him, taking a seat beside him. I throw my phone on the sofa, trying my best to stay calm from getting myself get mad or wailing into tears. Baekhyun having his hand propped his on the sofa's frame, he looks at me with a soft gaze. When I tilt my head to face him, I can see how his eyes sparkling when he looks at me.
"Do you want to drink first to quench your thirst?" Baekhyun offers as I nod my head slowly. He swiftly walks to the kitchen to fetch me a glass of water while I've been staring at my phone for a few minutes.
It's hopeless. Chanyeol would never call me back. I don't know what did I do to him but I don't deserve to be treated like this. But, just because our relationship has been for years and I love him still, I'm standing here faithfully to wait for him. Because I know, Chanyeol must have reasons behind all this. We will try our best to fix our relationship even if it's just a small fight.
Baekhyun comes back with a glass of cold water and he passes it to me. "Here you go," He says as I thank him. He replies to me with a smile, sitting back in his seat. I gulp down the water through my throat, quenching the thirst after waiting for hours for Chanyeol to answer my calls. But none of them succeeds. I hold the class in my hands, places it on my lap and I continue to stare at the black screen of the television.
"Aren't you hungry? It's almost 1 in the afternoon and you haven't eaten yet." Baekhyun concernedly asks.
"I'm no-" I don't get to finish my words and suddenly my stomach rumbles loudly. I don't expect it needs to be that loud until Baekhyun can hear it. I bring my one hand to place on my empty tummy, averting my gaze to look at Baekhyun who's practically holding himself from laughing hard.
I place the glass slowly on the coffee table, looking at him back with a frown face. Glaring straight into his eyes, Baekhyun quickly stops from laughing, his lips stop stretching for a smile. I cross my arms with my lips pouted, I'm definitely not mad at him for laughing at my grumbling stomach.
