In the capital of Ed'gra'in, a mother and her daughter were having a conversation about the girl's future.
"Sweetie, are you sure you want to go through with this? I mean, there's no harm in not going."
The 19-year-old looked at her mother for a few seconds, before looking at the imposing castle towering over her. For the past year, ever since she got that mysterious letter, she has looked forward to this day. She never seemed to get along with her age mates in her previous school, and she was constantly bullied. And no matter what she said or did, she was constantly at fault, at least according to her teachers. So she was eager to get into a school where she might be able to fit in.
"Yeah mom, I'm going through with this. I didn't fit in where I was, so maybe this was where I was meant to be."
The older lady looked at her daughter with compassion twinkling in her eyes. Ever since she and her husband laid eyes on her, they knew that she was special. And she knew all the struggles that she faced, especially when it came to her looks. But that was all in the past. Today, her little girl's life was being reset, and everyone be damned if she was going to get in the way
Hitting the buzzer next to the door, the girl waited for something to happen.
"Welcome to La Magica Academia. State your name and business."
"Um, my name is Roxane Armstrong and I'm here to..."
Before she could even finish, the large, ornate doors swung open, as if they were expecting her. Taking a moment to find her courage, she took her first step into the school. what greeted her was a sight to behold. La Magica wasn't just a school. It was as if her greatest fantasy had come to life. But with that, came its problems. There was no way she could figure out the school within the day.
"Administration is to your right. Ask for the principal and you should be fine."
Startled, the girl spun around to see who exactly was talking to her. Finally spotting the person, she realized that the body attached to the voice was more intimidating than the voice betrayed. So much so, that she couldn't move, or speak, or even breathe.
"Really? This again?" he muttered under his breath. "All right, let's get you there."
Taking a hold of my hand, the mysterious guy led me to Administration. Not aware of what was happening, Roxane had to use all of her strength to keep from collapsing.
"Hey, Mrs. Loranski," they mysterious guy said to the elderly lady at the front desk. "I've brought a new student."
"Morning Olympos," the lady said, looking up from the papers she was working on to see who it was that Olympos had brought to the administration office. After one quick look, she figured out who it was.
"From the looks of it, this should be Roxane Armstrong. The principal has been expecting her"
At least the mysterious man had a name. Not like it was helping. It's the first day of school and I'm already making a fool of myself. Great, it seemed that some things just didn't change. It was like no matter what I tried to do, my body just didn't want to respond. And I was bound to look like an idiot no matter the school. Eventually, thankfully, he left the Administration block, and when that happened, I regained full control of my body.
"M-m-morning," I stammered.
Taking one glance at Mrs. Loranski, I could immediately tell that she wouldn't be a problem. Easily in her fifties, she had that 'grandma down the road' look, which was slower than what I was used to working at.
"Don't worry about Olympos, he has that effect on every girl around him," Mrs. Loranski said, trying her best to assure me. "Just have a seat as I tell the principal about you."
