I was sitting in the hospital waiting room sitting next to Kakashi. I was informed that I could finally see my baby sister, and so here I am waiting on dad and the nurse to let me know when I could have my turn in seeing her.

It took a few hours, but a nurse finally came in from the hall.

"Reika?" She called softly. I stood up at the same time as Kakashi , but the nurse held a hand up for Kakashi to sit which he begrudgingly complied.

He sat down crossing his arms over his chest with his eyes narrowed at the nurse. She sighed obviously exhausted from whatever she was doing before.

I patiently waited for her to collect herself, but followed quietly as she motioned for me to walk.

She walked me down the hall as I passed several doors on both sides until coming to the stairs. As we ascended the stairs, she explained the rules of what I can do and what I just should not do under any circumstances.

It was amusing to watch her struggle as to why I'm so obedient and not causing her any extra stress, so when she asked about it, I answered truthfully.

"It's obvious from the moment you entered the waiting room exactly how tired you are. Your foot steps are sluggish, your shoulders look defeated, and when you sighed it was laced in annoyance with a hint of defeat. That and you have dark circles forming around your eyes." She looked to me with a hint of realization but laced with awe obviously mesmerized with how accurate I was.

But then she looked defeated and mumbled hoping I wouldn't hear, "Damn ninjas probably didn't even know that until I asked."

"Actually, I did know because I have a habit of analyzing everything from the moment I see something or someone enter a building."

She rolled her eyes refusing to believe me as we began walking down a corridor on the fifth floor passing by windows on both sides. Some had people going through physical therapy while others had babies in them.

After reaching the fifth glass window we came to a stop at a door obviously for special treatment. The glass window allowing us to see inside. When I looked, my shoulders tended as I sucked in a breathe.

My father is sitting in a rocking chair with a bottle filled with milk formula feeding my baby sister who was wrapped in a pink bundle. She is so small. So fragile, yet I couldn't stop my eyes from staring at Her hair. Her hair was thin but definitely visible. Crimson hair.

"She has mom's hair" I whispered as my shoulders began to shake. The nurse stood next to me with tears running down her face and I instantly knew why she was exhausted.

She had to help my dad from having a mental breakdown. Mom had died giving birth to this child. And she had probably ridiculed my father for freezing up in front of an infant. All because she didn't understand. I can hear her breathing as she struggled to come up with a way to apologize or maybe to make up an excuse.

I wasn't allowed to go in to comfort dad, so without looking at her, I said in a deathly calm voice, "You shouldn't try to come up with excuses for your behavior, and don't think your tears will help you either."

She gasped as I tilted my head to look at her, my face completely void of emotion as I stared her down.

She gulped rather loudly as goosebumps forward on her arms and blue lines on her head. She was literally shaking in her boots as I spoke again with a hint of malice in my tone, "Don't assume that just because we are shinobi, we don't understand what it means to show emotion. We are human beings just like everyone else in this hospital. We have emotions too. We hurt when our love one's die, too. We have more breakdowns than you ever will in your entire life. So don't go expecting us to be able to completely let my mom go as we take care of Reita. Don't expect us to be a bad family just because she looks like mom, or she acts like mom." I turned away looking at dad with a look of understanding shining through my eyes.
