To The Moon And Back

Chapter 1

  There it was, the end. The end of civilization, the end of the Kingdom, the end of Almanon, and possibly, the end of me as I stood as I watched the end of my kingdom go into mass destruction. I hoped it was all a dream as I heard the blood curdling sound of my people dying before my eyes.

How did we get here?

June

"Daughter please go the throne room and get me the documents from the table" My mother tells me

"Mother, your really giving in?!"

"No I'm not. We are coming to a mutual agreement to stop the violence that has taken the lives of many of our people for 4 months daughter"

"But--

"No "buts" now go

"Mother--

"Celine I said NOW!"

I never heard my mother raise her voice like that, but it was infuriating listening to her just giving into demands not after what that planet of Destruction did to our civilization. Pluto and its ruler, Abaddo was the cause of thousands of deaths, and famine that ran throughout our community for months. And now she's about to make a public announcement that may cause other planets or moons to attack us again.

I always admired my mother. She had brown curly hair, Hazel eyes, and pink lip gloss stained lips that was enviable, she had looks that even Aphrodite was jealous of. She was always a strong Queen. She stepped up as ruler after my father's untimely death 4 years ago when I was 12 years old. After my father's passing, my brother, Jericho was next in line for the throne, but our government ruled that it would be foolish to let a 15 year old rule over our Kingdom, so my mother was given the title as ruler.

The decisions she's been making lately has made me question my faith in her.

"Here mother"

"Thank you. Now go to your room Celine"

"Mom.....

"Jericho, take your sister to your room where she will stay until I'm finished with my business"

"Yes mother. Let's go Celine"

At that moment I was filled with anger. Anger I couldn't act on at the moment. Everything our kingdom stood for would all just be a lie if my mother gave into Pluto's appeasement

"I know how much you want to help Celine, but now is not the time" Jericho says

"Brother, if you had a brain you would know that this mutual agreement won't solve anything. For all we know Abaddo and his army will come back and kill more of our people"

"And you don't think mom knows that?"

"Maybe?"

"She only came up with agreement, so that she can buy some time and figure out what to do next, and you on her case isn't helping at all"

"But still I have to help mom somehow" I say

"And you will Celine trust me. But, you can help her right now by doing nothing and staying out of the way and her take care of it"

"Fine Jericho"

"Thank you Celine"

Once again shut out for trying to help. I swear no ever wants to listen to me when I have ideas or I'm trying to help.
