Chapter 28 -In the Moment

Poppy POV

I didn't know if Cody was still in school, but I was going to look for him anyways. I wiped my tears but I knew you could tell I was crying. My face felt red and I'm pretty sure my eyes were red too. 

Just ignore everything and just look for Cody. 

In the distance, I saw a tall figure with dark brown hair. Found him but he was with one of his friends. 

Fuck it.

I walked up behind him and tapped his back. Cody turned around and so did his friend. 

"Can we talk?" I asked him.

His friend looked me up and down. "Gonna fuck me too?" He said, looking his lips.

Cody furrowed his brows and rolled his eyes, a mad look on his face. "Shut up Brandon."

"Whatever." Brandon said, walking away.

"Anyways, can we talk?" I asked, once again. 

"Yeah, lets go to my house." He said.

I didn't think much of it, even though I thought it wasn't necessary to drive all the way to his house. He probably wanted to have sex again but I wasn't planning on it. 

"Yeah, sure."

I followed him to his car and got inside.

Arriving at Cody's house, I followed him up to his room. 

I sat on the edge of his bed as Cody closed the door. I saw him secretly lock it but I caught him. When he turned to look at me, I looked away.

"What did you want to talk about?" He asked me.

"I'm sorry for leaving the other night." I said, getting straight into it. 

I just wanna get this over with. 

"My siblings were getting worried and I didn't want to wake you up." I explained further. 

"You could have left a note?" He said, sitting next to me. Very close I might add.

I scooted away a little bit.

"It would be rude to look though your stuff." I said. 

"I don't care." He said, moving close to me again. 

"Cody, just forget that anything happened. I didn't want us to have sex, I was just in the moment." 

"So, your telling me...that it was a mistake?" Cody asked.

I slowly nodded my head.

Cody stood up and looked down at me. "I didn't think it was a mistake." He said, furrowing his brows.

"I'm sorry I-"

Cody cut me off by pushing me. I landed on my back on the bed. Cody got on top of me and said,

"I can change your mind." 

"Cody, please." I said, trying to sit up but Cody pushed me back again, this time harder.

"Listen here. I'm not the one to get humped and dumped, I do the doing. You made me look like a fool. Now everything thinks I'm a pussy." He said.

"Then why did you tell everyone?" I said.

Cody took a deep breath.

"Poppy, you broke my heart." He said. "I thought you felt what I felt but apparently not." Cody pouted then got off me. I sat up and looked at him as he stood above me.
