Prologue
Who Are the Dark Ones?
As the stars set light upon the Earth where we all stand, we are afraid but not of the stars or even the night. We are scared of the creatures within the dark, the dark ones, and the ones who fear the light… the ones we fear are ourselves. WE ARE THE VAMPIRE COUNCIL! We cannot help who we are, we try to live among you and some succeed and are living happily as your teachers, friends and the person down the street. Nevertheless, some have the thirst that we cannot control; well no one can control it because it is our nature… our instincts to feed. What we eat is well known in all places… blood… human blood… red, smooth, tasty, delicious BLOOD.
Well I’m embarrassed, I have got so carried away with the blood so please forget all that and let me introduce myself I am Aura Burn, well that’s what my master called me when I got turned. We will let me explain… when you are turned the vampire who bit you names you. I have forgotten my name because I am 500 years old but let us keep that between you and me. But I and my master are mentally connected because our blood it combined because to change a human to a vampire you must switch blood with a vampire, they must suck yours and you must drink there blood. However, there is a lot that no one in this would know like how the movies and books say we cannot go into the sun light, FALSE! We can only be killed by stakes, FALSE! We love the sun some of us even have tans and we can be killed by a gunshot to the heart so no stakes or beheadings.
The rules about killing humans is you do not unless you do not wipe there memory, which is the only exception to the rule. You see we have many different powers you see we can wipe memories, read strong feelings, see flashes of the future, my favorite witch is the power of elements, and my favorite of them is FIRE. In addition, I have a sword I call it Mystic it lays by my bed, it is magical, and it can become smaller and put into my pocket. This power takes a lot of blood to use and you master or the council will not teach you how to tell after your 3rd year of being a vampire. However, use vampires have not tried many things like having children or serving blood to humans. There are some things we do know like how we can go 6 months without drinking blood but if we go a month we go somewhat crazy, we bite everything in sight even vampires.
