Title & summary (c) Maroon 5

Author's Note: Hello! I know this is short but I'm just taking a break from school and all. And my fandom's not that rich so as you may have noticed I kinda write about the same characters in most of my fanfics (i.e. Dino Cavallone, Kyouya Hibari, Atobe Keigo...well, that's about it, I think? haha). Forever a KHR! girl. Well, yeah, hope you guys like this one :)

I turned to my side and watched as the light from the morning sun threatened to spill through the dark curtains and into the room, illuminating us and making everything appear luminescent. I stared at the window for a moment, wondering why we were still indoors on such a beautiful morning.

I felt her softly stir closer, her back to me. With her arm, she tried to feel for the blanket behind her in an attempt to cover her bare shoulders, with little apparent success. I smiled and helped her out before I flung my shoulder across her waist and held her in a spoon position. She sighed abruptly through her nose and I knew I've surprised her.

I stroke her stomach softly, clutching her as gently yet securely as I can. "Shh, it's fine," I whispered. She still hadn't relaxed yet, so I planted a kiss on her head.

I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, when I felt her uneven breathing and the irregular rise and fall of her chest. I propped myself up using my other arm and examined her. Her eyes were closed, but I could see her troubled expression. It's not something I was ever going to miss.

"Are you alright?" I asked her softly as I felt her neck with my palm. Her skin felt colder than normal. I frowned and tucked her under the blanket more.

"Yes, I'm just cold," her muffled replied went. She shuffled her feet and stuffed them under the huge blanket we're in, folding her legs to a fetal position to hug herself.

I brushed the strands of hair from her face, untangling the mess so I could see her eyes more clearly.

"You're freezing," I said as I touched her hand. She gave my hand a soft squeeze in return, and I enclosed her more securely with my arms to keep her warm. In response, she moved in closer, sharing my body heat, until finally, I felt her relax.

"Dino," she said softly after a while.

"Yeah?"

She nuzzled her head closer and finally settled at the crook of my neck. As clearly as her tender voice could get, she whispered: "Thank you."

I smiled hugged her closer as I thought of how this was more ideal than being outside, enjoying the heat of the sun on such a beautiful morning.
