Frederick had tried to baby his daughter, he really had.  But the feisty she wolf would have none of it, even as a pup.  From the time she was able to walk she toddled after her two older brothers and her many male cousins.  She had to be right there, doing what they were doing.  And if anyone tried to stop her, well, lord help them.  The boys had trained together under the best the kingdom had to offer.  His older brother's son, his nephew Daniel was the crown prince and was to be protected at all costs.  Frederick himself had been trained with his brothers as a pup in the same manner.  As Alpha of the pack surrounding the palace grounds, he was the first line of defense to keep the monarchs safe.  His brother in law commanded the king's guards while his sister headed the intelligence unit.  Their mother had raised her children well and animosity between the three was nonexistent.  A miraculous feat really with the egos and sheer power they possessed.

He currently stood in the king's office overlooking the training grounds.  Beside him stood William, the Werewolf King.  "Daniel is really coming along in his training."

"Oh don't act like your heathens can't beat the piss out of him any day of the week," grumbled the elder brother good naturally.

Frederick couldn't stop the grin from forming.  His oldest, Alexander, and middle child, Braum were three and one years older than Daniel respectively.  His youngest, Catherine, was the one that fought with no holds barred.  She didn't accept defeat and pushed herself constantly to be the best.  And with this family, that was not an easy thing to do.  At eleven she was showing promise beyond her years.  "Daniel is twelve and holding his own against a fifteen year old royal blood Alpha.  In a few years they'll be more evenly matched and Alexander will have his ass handed to him."

"I can't wait to see the look on his face when that happens."  The two men turned at the feminine voice to see their sister sauntering toward them.  "Are you two spying on the kids again?"

"We sure are."  There was no point in hiding it.  Cecelia's two sons and William's youngest were not yet old enough to join the brutal training down in the courtyard.  The three youngest boys were under the age of 10 and were allowed to enjoy more of their childhood.
Cecelia joined her brothers at the massive window and watched for a few minutes before speaking again.  "I wanted speak to you both about Catherine."  Both heads snapped to stare at her.  "I'd like to be more hands on in her training.  I think she'd be the perfect spy.  She shows promise.  She has a natural talent and the drive needed for the job."

Frederick glared at his feet.  He didn't want his baby girl in an harm.  "She will be too well known as the cousin of the crown prince to be anonymous."

"No, but that may work to our advantage.   Who would expect the female in plain sight?  Think about it, she would make the perfect diplomat with her pedigree and background."

William was the first to speak.  He treasured Catherine as if she was his own daughter but the family was raised to but the kingdom first.  "I'll allow it."
