Lotus of the Forest Nation

She looked around at the charred land around her, it seems hard to believe this land of burned wood and charred ground was once the largest Jungle Biome in the Far Lands and the only home ever known to the Forest Nation. Lotus hated it, but not the biome, she loved trees with every fiber of her being, but it is whom did this she hates, centuries ago, the Fire Nation struck back against the Forest Nation, burning the jungle in which they lived to the ground, forcing the Forest Nation to need to move to the smaller forests that didn't have tall trees or vines to climb or brightly colored parrots flying around or even ocelots running as fast as they can to try to play with the Forest Nation citizens. The spruce forests weren't too boring but the forest weren't as interesting as the Jungle must have been. Lotus of course had never seen the Jungle in its former glory but she'd read enough books to know what it looked like before it got destroyed. Lotus had always been a book spider, loving books since she first picked one up in her hands. The librarians at all the forest villages knew her for her love of books and always had the newest ones prepared for her and with her love of books came her desire to become the next best author. Suddenly she was shocked out of her thoughts by a flapping sound beside her. She turned and saw a royal blue parrot perched on a nearby branch. Lotus though the patriots had gone extinct after the jungle was burned, apparently not, and if there was one left after so many years there had to be more somewhere.

"Hi there." She said holding a hand out to the bird it looked at her hand for a second then jumped onto her arm.

"Squawk! Hi there!" The parrot said in a high pitched scratchy voice and Lotus remembered how parrots normally imitate things they come across.

"Lotus! Who are you talking t-" Lilly, Lotus' best friend, stopped short when she saw the Blue parrot on Lotus' shoulder.

"They do exist!!!" Lilly shouted her call echoing across the desolate landscape.

"Squawk! They do exist." The parrot mimicked. Lilly giggled as the parrot mimicked her.

"We have to show the elders." Lotus said as the parrot flew around them.

This is kind of a bonus because tomorrow I won't be able to post because it's Thanksgiving. also I'm interested in seeing some theories about the next few chapters. (Hint: The next chapter has something to do with the events of the Prologue.)
