"...My glass is full, and now my glass is run,/And now I live, and now my life is done." (Chidiock Tichborne)
"That doesn't seem to be quite true, don't you think?" He was trying to be civil but his interest was getting the best of him. With a quirk like that it would be possible to heal all of his scars upon receiving it. On the thought that she might be lying about something so important, he was ready to kill her again even if it would just be futile.
"Well I have to agree with you, most people don't die three times in one day and then keep walking around with just a little headache and some fatigue. But honest, I was quirkless as of this morning. In fact, I had busted my knee the night before and it was healing at a normal rate just like all of my wounds usually had, but now that I'm thinking about it my knee hasn't hurt since I died for the first time..."
"Perhaps the trauma of almost dying awakened your quirk.." He saw the unimpressed look on her face, "..though I'm sure for someone like you who wants to die that's quite the annoyance."
"That's putting it mildly."
"Then let me take your quirk." He was already reaching out to grab her before letting her answer, but from the still blank look on her pale features he could tell she didn't give a care in the world as long as she could be set free.
A few minutes passed before he retracted his hand and looked down at it as though something was wrong, he was exuding all sorts of annoyance. "You're sure what you have is a Quirk?"
His voice was bridging on a growl but it didn't matter in the least to the apathetic girl sitting in front of him. "I'm just about as sure as I can be, but once again I didn't have a quirk this morning and I haven't been in any human experimentation in the time in between, so I honestly don't have a good answer for you."
She watched as he let out a sigh of frustration, his hand twitching as though he wanted to kill her but felt like a fool for even bothering with someone who seemed to be immortal. "If you want to take a try at me again I don't particularly care, you look like you need to blow off some steam..."
She barely finished speaking before his hand collided so hard with the side of her head that she practically flew out of the chair and her head slammed into the concrete wall next to them. She was bleeding and unconscious but he noticed she was still breathing. It was an interesting sentiment, to see if she had to die to be healed. Her eyes suddenly cracked open and with a yawn she got back up and sat in the chair again, the wound on the side of her head now a measly scab quickly healing although all of the blood remained on the side of her face. "So what now big guy?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well I assume you called me in here to take my Quirk. Now that you can't gain from getting my quirk and I can't gain from you killing me, I'm asking, what now?" The blank look on her face despite the fiery attributes of her eyes gave him an idea, since it wasn't like she could be allowed to leave now that they had met.
"Join me."
"Huh?"
There was a pause before he continued, "I'm a villain, if you haven't noticed child. I'm currently in charge of another kid looking to start a league of villains. I want to use you as an agent sent specifically from me, powerful and well trained, to make sure his plans stay on track. It would mean you would have a purpose, which I can tell you're in need of. Think of it this way, the depressed teenager you were died this morning like a normal person, the person you are is a different entity free to make any choice that suits her. So why don't you join me?"
It was as though he had read the thoughts she had been mulling over on her way here. She agreed completely that Akai Homura was dead and more than anything wanted her to be. She looked at his outstretched hand and didn't hesitate to take it. She couldn't feel fear anymore she had noticed, or much of anything really, but she did long for something and this was it-a purpose. It didn't matter to her if the job was babysitting or serial killing, she would do what he asked as her one driving force with no space to think about killing herself as if it was even possible. He smiled, though she would describe it as more of grin like that of someone who just won a bet.
"For starters, I'm going to force into you all of the power and skill I said I would promise to him. I'll start with giving you a combat Quirk." He stood and she followed after him as he walked with long strides. They passed by tanks with horrid looking bird men, of all shapes and sizes, that had their brains sticking out. He stopped at one, seemingly doing a similar process to what he tried to enact upon her a few minutes prior. "This quirk...it should have been useful, but it requires super regeneration to even be used once. With your abilities and some training, your body should be able to heal itself faster than the quirk breaks it apart."
She easily picked up on the 'should' in his sentence but ignored it. The worst that could happen would be that it hurt when she used it and then her body would heal, which she knew she could handle. He lead her further off to the side where she hopped up onto a metal table that seemed like an exam table for an autopsy. As he laid his hand on her to transfer the Quirk she spoke up. "Can I at least know your name and the Quirk's name before you give me that thing?"
"The quirk's name is Soul Fire, and you may refer to me as Master."
