It was a beautiful summer day week before school started again. It was all going smoothly until I get home from a whole day spent with friends, and my mom told me the news. I was to be going to what they called a "special class" the next afternoon and that I was most likely going to be my last night at my house. That night my mom cooked my favorite dinner and baked cookies. For the rest of the night we just spent time together, most of it was just watching our favorite movies.

The next morning I packed a duffle bag, like they had asked for in the letter. After my mom and me made the 2 hour drive from my house in Arkansas up north towards Missouri. Once we got there the whole building looked like a government facility, high, wire fences, guards in uniform, the whole deal. Pulling up to the gates the guards came over and said this was how far my mom could take me. Saying goodbye was the hardest thing ever, my mom had been my whole world. Looking at her once more it seemed like she hadn't told me everything that was on the letter, but before I could ask the guards pulled me away. My eyes filling up with tears as I watched her just drive away balling her eyes out too. The guards led me inside to a classroom with about 30 other kids all around my age, 16. There were guards in each corner of the room and for what seemed like hours they'd take groups of 5 into another room. When they came to my group I felt a rush of anxiety, I needed to get back to my mom. We've only ever been apart for a week at most. With my mind in a panic, my body went into autopilot, just doing exactly what I was told. When I finally calmed myself down I realized we had moved into a whitened out room. All that was in there were chairs behind us, tables with cups half full in front and beyond that were the guards that lead us in. They told us ro drink what were in the cups and after to sit down, but as i went to sit everything went black.
