The discovery

An amazing discovery, that's what I thought I found. Maybe it was a necromancer's book. No, no, it was definitely a diary, but who was it's owner? And most importantly, when did he, she or even they, as it looked for the few pages I've already read, write it?

It looked ancient, but it had multiple languages wrote on the pages, some were from nowadays. Was it a time traveler who wrote it? That sure make sense but I'm yet to hear about somebody being so far to already be able to do such thing. Or perhaps somebody that wanted to hide it's writings? But what could be in need to hide in such place that I found it?

Runic, English, Latin, Spanish... Who could have the knowledge to be able to write across time, space and be able to use magic? This adventure could surely be more dangerous that I realized at first. I should take preventions, maybe even hire a bodyguard... more than one... And a high magician to protect me too... That might be enough.

Or I should just keep it quiet and don't tell anybody, keep it to myself... The institute shouldn't know it. I should maybe abandon it, they never were of much help to my investigations anyway. But some of their colleagues would still need me, maybe they'd search for me if I don't give an explanation to why I left.

Who cares anyway? I just want to read this book. I am so intrigued. I can't wait anymore. What will it teach me about the time and world where it belongs from? I need to know it, I need to read it!

The cover is from some sort of material of the Middle age, but it's hard as stone, like if it was just... Well, a cover. It has a metal lock, it should be closed but luckily I found the key nearby. This one was made of some alloy from different metals but with some sort of technological combination on the tip of it which actually makes it rotate itself so it's never the same. I'm sure it has a pattern but I do not have time for that now, I must unlock the secrets of the book. Doesn't seem to have a title on the cover, but I know already it has on the first few pages. I open it slowly, trying to be as careful as possible, who knows if it even has a curse; I am pretty sure this book could survive a great blast or even avoid staying in flames. The first page is completely blank, which is something common on the books. After that, a second page awaits me, this one with its title: "Diary of the Dual Blades". This book must have belonged to some brothers in war, maybe a pair of lovers? I do not know yet but I will do one day, I must not anticipate myself.

It's interesting that every letter on the title is written on a different font, language and size, which makes me realize once again that who ever wrote this, must have really known what they were doing. It'd even more impressive that this was not a printed book, but some sort of thoughts-magically written. I've seen few like this before; The spell is actually not that easy as it seems: you need a really big and in well state book, not having your mind corrupted and at least having some sort of knowledge of advanced magic, in short. This kind of tricks is known to be used on the interrogation rooms, by psychologists, medics, and all those kind of things which I'm not interested in. But it's useful indeed, I am using the spell myself on this moment, much easier than having to share your secrets with somebody or to write it myself. Such a waste of time.
That is irrelevant at the moment, where was I? Ah yes, let's continue into the third page. Hm, this is weird, there's nothing written on it, I swear I saw something the last time I checked it. Maybe it's hidden somehow.

For now, I need to rest, it's late and I shall make preparation for my departure. If I plan on leaving this place to find the real purpose of this mystery, I should at least take some rest. Yes, yes, I must not push myself over the edge, I had already enough with such an adventure I had when I discovered my precious treasure.
