She looked at him, staring into blank space. She'd never forget him, the way he used to hold her, the way he would sacrifice anyone, do anything, just for her. The way he broke her and scattered the pieces of her heart all over the edges of the universe. She tried to put herself back together, but she couldn't reach the farthest parts of her heart, no matter how she tried. They slipped away and wouldn't stay.

I remember that day, that day when everything changed. I was a fool to let you go. I just didn't want to hurt you, didn't want to be the next Justin. I didn't trust myself around you. I didn't want us to end, but the addiction left me with no choice. I didn't want to break you.
