I can't take it any more, the pain is too much. The world turns to it's side and I hit the rough gravel of this abandoned street with a thud. My head feels so clouded and the pain is so bad now that red spots spread though my eyes and blur my vision considerably.
My head is pounding and in my throat there is a distinct metallic taste like copper in my mouth. I only know one thing that could be, blood. Did I fall, am I on the ground? I'm not quite sure anymore. A sharp pain in my right shoulder paralyses me, forcing me to curl up in the middle of the street. Everything is sideways so I must of fallen down or something. It's not safe here anymore. But I have nowhere else to go since... since my group died. Died on my pathetic orders. I was so stupid to think that the rain wouldn't come that day, so sure of myself that the others followed me without so much of a single question.
Why? Why did they have to pick me as their leader? I knew from the very start that others had doubts about me being in charge. So why didn't they speak up?!
May this is my repentance, for all their untimely deaths. Come on then death, carry me away in your cloaked arms you stupid grim reaper.
So I will wait here, for death to come, for the rain to come. I'm not afraid of death anymore.
But you know what, for a moment there I thought I felt someone lift me up ever so carefully. My eyes feel so heavy. I think I will give in to the darkness now...
