WHEN LIFE HAPPENS

"OH MY GOD! O God, o God, o God! I can't believe this is happening"

All teary eyed
Almost all hope is lost
But you refuse to go down without a fight
You hope you'll wake up and it turns out to be false.

" How could he do this to me, I gave him my life, we've been together for seven years"

You lament in disbelief
It's been 7 yrs, how could he just leave
You stop short and think
I should've seen this coming.

" What do I do now, who do I tell, how do I carry on, I should've been more attentive, this is all my fault"

Your cries of self blame
Your tears of anguish
You start to self hate
But it doesn't solve a thing
You still lost your supposed soul mate.

"We were to get married next week, how could he do this to me"

He cheated, just say the words
Shout it at the top of your lungs
Don't hold back, tell it to the world
Let them know of the fire that's consuming your life.

"Aaarrgh! I don't deserve this, I'll kill him and that tramp if I ever see them again, I swear it"

Threats and promises you can't fulfill
Just for you to go an and rave to your fill
He hurt you, but you can't do the same.

"What am I saying, maybe I should go back to ou- his apartment, and try to work this out"

No! Don't do it
Don't sell yourself short like that
It's his fault all this is happening
Let him come to you
If he  wants to fix things.

"I can't live without him, we did everything together,how am I to survive"

One cut , two cuts, three cuts, four
Now your red wrists match your neighbors wall
Drinking, partying, you succumb
It's only to numb the pain, you never forgot.

"I can't keep doing this to myself, I have to rise from this, he's gone,I have to take care of myself"

You finally see the light,
He was never yours, try as you might
You learned to move on
