Chapter 5

Echo of the Sky Nation

She looked up and saw the ground, far below the Sky Nation's floating islands. She looked down and saw the sky, the rectangular white clouds drifting across an azure blue sky without a care in the world as to what is going on below them, probably having no idea about the war raging on the ground level of the Far Lands. Echo had done this too many times to count hanging upside-down by her legs right over the side of the edge of the Sky Nation, the calming sound of falling water filling her ears. Echo is known for being the largest dare Skeleton in the Far Lands being able to hand upside-down like this for hours or even days on end if she was stressed out enough.

"Echo! ECHO!!" Someone shouted. Oh boy... here we go again... Echo through recognizing the voice and sitting up.

"One second Skylar!" Echo shouted and stood and parkored her way across the river that lead up to the twin waterfalls that she was previously hanging in between.

"Echo! Have you been Cliff-Hanging again?" Skylar Asked when she saw Echo.

"Yeah? What's the big deal?" Echo asked and Skylar sighed.

"One of these days, your gonna slip fall off the island." Skylar scolded.

"Isn't that what Elytra Wings are for?" Echo asked and Skylar face palmed.

"You don't always have your Elytra on you and even if it was in your inventory, you'd hit the ground before you are able to equip them." Skylar answered suddenly there was a loud flapping sound.

"ECHO!!! SKYLAR!!!" Someone shouted nearby. The duo looked up and saw a Huge Ender Dragon landing on the sky island. As soon as the dragon landed, Ender, and old friend of Echo and Skylar's tumbled off its back and came dangerously close to falling off the island but her Dragon, Ender Pearl, blocked her from the ground.

"Ender?!" Skylar and Echo said at the same time as they rushed over to the End Nation warrior. Echo helped her to her feet.

"Ender, What's Wrong? Are you okay?" Echo asked as she pulled Ender to her feet.

"I'm fine but the End Nation was destroyed." Ender said between short breaths.

"WHAT?! HOW?!" Skylar shouted out.

"I don't know, I was out on a trade expedition." Ender answered taking a deep breath to calm herself. Then Echo notice there was a light purple aura around Ender making her appear is if she was glowing.

"What the?" Echo asked and ender reached into her inventory and pulled out a Bright Purple sword that glowed as if lit from within.

"Ender? Is that the-" Echo's voice fell to a whisper, "The Ender Sword?"

"It was the only thing that was the only intact thing that I could find, along with this note stuck to it." Ender said handing a piece of paper to Echo.

Dear, Ender

We didn't leave this time, we fought but the Fire Nation had Withers on their side, we were outnumbered they surrounded the village so we couldn't escape but we still ought them but we didn't win so I End Star with my last breaths give you this Ender Sword and name you Ender Star.

"Oh Notch..." Echo said when she finished reading the note and handing it to Skylar so she could read it too.

"Yeah..." Skylar agreed when she finished reading and handed the note to Ender. Ender took the note but she didn't hold onto it, instead is slipped out of her hand and fell to the ground drifting on the cool winter breeze.

"So... What are you gonna do now? You can't just curl up in a cave somewhere and die." Echo asked.

"That's why I came here, I don't know where to go or what I can do." Ender answered and suddenly Ender Pearl, roared in pain. Everyone turned but didn't see the huge dragon.
