When at first I saw herI didn't know what to think
I figured maybe I'd had
way too much to drink
She had no blood inside her
nor organs or skin
she was literally made of bones
not just "bone thin"
I realized quickly
that her brain was still intact
She was unable to make a blood oath
but still we made a pact
We decided to be friends
one thick and one thin
I would help her find a way
to once more be wrapped in skin
We looked up all the smartest docs
then knocked on all their doors
they told us that you can not buy
new organs in flesh stores
Looking into eyeless sockets
I promised I'd bring this curse to an end
I just felt I had to help
my dear new skeleton friend
Though she does not have a heartbeat
her writing still has heart
poetry is her forte
and shes quite skilled in her art
We were both determined
to find my friend a cure
She should have palms on her hands
soles on her feet upon the floor
She just wants to feel
warm sunlight on her face
longs to once again
join the human race
As she wrapped me in her blanket
because she does not feel the cold
I knew that I would help her
till we both were very old
Around my warm pink fingers
I feel her bony fingers bend
hand in hand we journey on
me and my skeleton friend
