Chapter 3

~Kellin~

I'm rooming with Mox and Vic. Great. More weird stares from Vic and whispers from Mox to Vic and Vic always shaking his head no. What is this? Some love between those two and they just want me out? I head up to the fourth floor and walk into our room to see Vic and Mox on one bed talking. They didn't hear the door open apparently because they're still talking away.

"You need to tell Kellin!" Mox says.

"No! I can't. He'll think I'm weird and go to another room. Or worse." Vic says. Another room? Or worse? Huh?

"How hard is it to tell someone that you like them?!" Mox says.

"Very! Especially when it's your best friend whose MARRIED!" he shouts the last part.

Vic likes me? Is that what it is? "Hey guys." I try to act normal. I walk into the room completly and set my suitcase down on the free bed.

"Hey." Mox says.

"I'm going to the bar." I say and walk out as fast as possible. I slam the door shut behind me and head dowstairs to the bar.

Once I'm there, I order some European beer and drink it all with no breaks. "You want another?" the bartender asks and I nod.

"Keep 'em coming." The bartender grins and hands me one after the other. As soon as I finish one, there's another in my hand instantly. I have to stay sober enough to call Katelynne...forget her tonight. I drink till I lose count and fall out of my chair.

"Kellin!" I hear Mox say and I feel her supporting me. "C'mon, let's get you back to the room." Everything is blurry as she gets me back to the room. She lays me in my bed and says, "I'm going to go find some asprin or something." So Vic and I are alone.

I get up and stumble over to Vic. "Kellin, lie down." Vic says.

"No." I say and pull him close to me.

"Kellin..."

I lean in and kiss his cheek, up his jaw-line and nibble on his ear. His body suddenly relaxes against mine and I kiss under his nose.

"Kellin, please...don't." he sounds unsure of what he's saying.

I lean in close and say, "Pucker up." His eyes widen as my lips crash into his.

"What the..." I hear Mox say and I pull back. Vic has that deer-in-the-headlights look and I stumble back towards my bed. I trip on the edge of the bed and fall on to it's soft surface. "I have aspirin." she says slowly. I slowly fall into a deep sleep.

I wake up the next morning with my head pounding. I look around and see Vic and Mox still asleep. I wonder if Mox has any asprin. I slowly rise from my bed and see a bottle of asprin sitting on the dress with a sticky note on it. I walk over to the dresser and the sticky note says: "Kelly, take 2 of these. no more, no less." Mox must've written this last night. I know her handwriting from anywhere. She always writes like that, I don't know why. I open the bottle and take two out. I move to the fridge and find a water bottle and another note: "You're Welcome." I laugh softly and swallow the asprin with one drink of the water.

"Morning sleepy head." I say when I see Mox is looking out the window.

"Do you remember what happened last night?" she asks.

"Um no. Am I supposed to?"

"Don't forget to call Kate." she walks out of the room with that. I sigh. Katelynne is going to be upset. I step out on to the balcony and call Kate. On the third ring she answers: "Hello?"

"Hey baby." I say.

"Oh, so now you call?!" she nearly shouts, "Do you know how worried I have been?"

"I'm sorry, Kate. I was really tired last night and I fell asleep before I could call."

She sighs, "Couldn't you have at least texted me goodnight?"

"Yeah." I reply, "How's Copeland?"

"Copeland's at school and she's just fine."

"Good."

"You weren't making out with that merch tent girl, were you?"

"How could you even think that?!"

"Never mind."

"Fine." I snap. I hear someone's voice in the background. There's no doubt that it's a man. "Who is that, Kate?"

"I have to go, Kellin."

"No, Katelynne. Answer me!" No answer. "Kate?" Still no answer. "Katelynne??" I look at my phone. She hung up on me.

I feel tears pricking at my eyes and soon enough, I start crying. I fall to the ground, bring my knees up to my chin and rest my forehead against my knees. "Kellin?" I hear Vic say.

"Go away." I say. I feel his arms wrap around me and I cry harder.

"It's okay. It'll be okay." he says comfortingly. "What happened?"

"Katelynne. She just got mad, then hung up after I heard a man's voice."

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news but..."

"I know."

"I'm sorry." "Dry your eyes and I'll take you out somewhere and buy you breakfast, okay?"

"Ihop?" I ask, looking at him.

"If there is one." He smiles and wipes the tears off my cheeks with his sleeve.

"You're the best."

"C'mon." he says and helps me up. We walk back into the room and see Mox sitting on the bed with her computer out.

"There's an Ihop right down the road." We look at her. "You left the door open." I laugh a little and grab my suitcase.

"I'm going to hit the shower." I say and pull out a pink/purple button up shirt with little white triangular flowers on it and a pair of regular skinny jeans.

"Okay." Mox and Vic say. I move to the bathroom and lock the door. I turn the water on high then decrease it down to warm. I pull off the clothes from yesterday and step into the warm shower. I let the water run down my back as I begin to think about Vic.
