"Amy, wait up!" Parker yells, running after Amethyst.
"Oh, hey Parker, what's up?" Amy asks.
"I, uh, I was hoping I could walk with you home," he says.
"Hm? Sure, why not?" Amy says. She turns around and starts to walk away. Parker lifts his head a little and starts to chase after her. He starts to talk to her and get to know her a bit as they walk to her house. Pearl is outside the house, sitting on the porch steps, waiting for her sister to return home from school.
"Hey! What took you so long to get home?" Pearl asks, standing up and jumping off the porch.
"Sorry, but I guess you and Crystal forgot about choir practices after school," Amy explains.
"Oh shoot, you're right... we did..." Pearl groans. Amy laughs a little and Parker smiles at Amy.
"I-I'll see you later, Amethyst," Parker says.
"Hm? What do you mean? Did you forget it's a Friday? Actually, we're having a bonfire a little ways down that way," Amethyst pointed towards the school direction and the wooded area nearby, "If you want, you, Luke, and Adrian can come with us. You can meet our parents," Amy said. Parker nodded then said his goodbyes to Amy and Pearl and walked away to his house a few more blocks away.
About 3 hours later, it was 6pm. The bonfire was at 7:30pm, so Parker picked up his phone and called Luke and Adrian. They agreed to go to the bonfire with Parker and meet the girls' parents. So the boys met up at Parker's house, since it was the closest the bonfire area. They changed clothes to proper bonfire attire so it would be easier to hike later in the dark. At about 7:15, they left to walk to the bonfire.
They get to the bonfire at about 7:25. "Oh, hey guys! Glad you made it!" Amethyst waved to the boys as she helps Crystal set up a tent.
"This isn't just a bonfire?" Luke asks.
"Of course not, we're camping with our parents for the weekend. You boys can stay if you want, we have an extra tent," Crystal explains.
"I mean, sure. I'll stay," Parker says. Luke and Adrian agree with him and decide to help set up the campsite. While helping set up, the boys notice that Pearl is nowhere to be seen.
"Hey, where's Pearl?" Adrian asks Amethyst.
"Oh, she's helping Mom and Dad find their way here. They live really far away and she's helping them get here," Amethyst explains, "They'll be here in about 45 minutes.
"Oh... okay," Adrian replies. He looks down at the tent and Amethyst starts thinking.
"What? Miss your girlfriend or something?" Amethyst says, jokingly. Adrian's head shoots up and becomes really red.
"Sh-She's not, w-we're not... um... no...?" he stutters.
"HA! YOU LIKE HER! I KNEW IT!" Amethyst teases. Adrian covers his face with one of his hands and the others laugh.
"Hey, it's fine. It's just a crush. Why not and ask her out?" Crystal says. Adrian starts to think and says that he's been thinking about it but he doesn't want to ask yet. Crystal awes sadly and encourages him to ask Pearl out.
"Where are they? Shouldn't they be here by now?" Parker asks Amethyst. She shrugs in reply and says that maybe it's traffic. A car pulls up and Pearl comes out of the passenger seat.
"Sorry we're late!" She yells to everyone as she runs over, "Dad kept turning the wrong way."
"I was not! I was simply following your directions," Their father says, as he walks over with their mother.
